The White Horse Inn

I first got introduced to this lovely little gem by a friend who had relocated to the local area and I have been a few times since. An hour drive for a meal - definitely worth it. Home cooked, hearty food with friendly staff and cosy surroundings.

Go quite often and never disappointed - great food, attentive, friendly staff. Consistently hard to beat. Real nice place in every way.

Went to the White Horse for the first time today for Mothers day. There were 6 of us in total. Well what a fabulous place, the staff are so friendly, we were taken to our table, we were served quickly even though the place was packed to the rafters. The food was amazing, well presented, home made, quality food. It was the first visit for us, but, it certainly won't be our last. Thank you for a lovely Mothers day meal. All 6 of us would highly recommend this place. We will definitely be visiting you again soon. 😆

A charming place to visit... however the food can be hit and miss. We visited a few years ago for a Sunday Lunch and it was amazing - however as a large party standards can slip. Friendly service though!

Lovely meal, welcoming atmosphere & hosts were fantastic with last minute party number changes! We had 9 in our party, originally came here for a general dinner. A member of staff had overheard a couple in our party had a upcoming 25th wedding anniversary. The member of staff suprised them with a heart-warming card and Terrys Chocolate Orange - What a lovely gesture!! Food was fantastic, compliments to the chef! Everyone in our party left with gigantic smiles after a wonderful experience

This is without a doubt THE BEST meal I've EVER had in a pub!!!

The fillet steak melts in your mouth, there's virtually no fat on it and it's locally sourced.
I have never had a steak this good before and I only eat steaks when I have pub meals! The peppercorn sauce is also the nicest I've ever had.

The meal came with a HUGE portion of beautiful home made chips. Even the onion rings are handmade and hand battered! The veg is cooked perfectly as well.

We both had brownie sundaes - OMG! Best sundaes I've had. Annie bakes the brownies herself and you can feel the love that goes into them.

The service is really quick considering everything is cooked fresh to order. Annie served us and she is lovely, so warm and friendly.

To come here from my house in the Midlands would be a four hour round trip - this is absolutely worth the journey. I can understand why people come from all over the country!

Come and try this pub if you're looking for an amazingly tasty meal and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

This is genuinely the nicest pub I've been to and the best food I've ever eaten in a pub.

Lovely place to go for a meal. Loads of choice on the menu - was refreshing to see things in there that I haven't seen on other menus. I could have picked two or three meals. What I did pick tasted great.

Staff were nice and was reasonably priced.

Very much a place to go to eat though, didn't feel like a pub where you could go for a drink. Ahead of the meal we sat at the bar for a short while, but felt awkward doing so and after the meal, one of the few sofas was free so we grabbed it.

Didn't take away from the experience too much though - well worth a visit.

Family meal on NYE. Absolutely fantastic, staff were very accommodating especially with my 3 year old boy. Sirloin steak awesome, with the best peppercorn sauce i think I've ever had. Thank you.
