Looking for a place to stay for a few days on our Honeymoon that would take dogs (we have 2 English Pointers) and this place jumped out at me.

Staff were really friendly and they loved the dogs. We had a superior double room which was excellent. The food is just fantastic (as was the beer), vegetarian choices for the wife and some great options for me. If you go though you have to try the steak. Simply gorgeous.

The village of Llancarfan is really quiet and pretty and I spent a good few hours strolling around with the dogs.

I can't recommend the Fox and Hounds Pub high enough. Pay a visit, you won't regret it.

Food was very good. Wine should be served. Very slow service. Staff could be more engaging - no conversation or excitement at all. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant and no apologies for the delay bringing food. The menu previously was more interesting and it was busier. We used to come regularly and unfortunately we won't be returning.

Food was very nice, dining experience needs to be more polished, it was a quiet afternoon but service not where it should be. Still worth a visit but things should be better. Historically a much better experience.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay with my daughter and will not be returning. On the up side the 3 members of staff we met were lovely and were working very hard, however the room was supposed to be the superior room and I was so disappointed with it. There was dust on the t.v, fan, table and in the wardrobe. There was peeling wallpaper, rust and mould in the bathroom, threadbare patches on the carpet, a large black mark that looked like ink on the bed sheet. We paid for this room as soon as we arrived, if I had seen it before hand I would not have stayed.
The food was nice but the continental breakfast was not quite continental.

My husband booked here for my birthday and our anniversary very disappointed the room was meant to be high quality they even had the cheek to charge extra . Well it was like staying at your nans house I was so upset put couldn't let my husband know. I would of asked for our money back and would of stayed at travel lodge at least it would of been clean we stayed for 3 nights had to ask for our bins to be changed what a over priced sham. No staff until 3pm dog barking all night longest 3 nights ever couldn't wait to get out of there. Didn't have evening meals so cost a fortune on taxis wouldn't of stayed if informed about this . Just a shame my anniversary and 50th birthday was ruined by this. Wouldn't stay again just upset for my husband wasting all that money on this room believe me wasn't cheap.

My partner booked this place for my birthday, the night before we stayed in a 5 star hotel and I would say the fox and hound was so much better. They were welcoming and so friendly, they catered for all our needs. The breakfast was delicious and plenty to chose from. Our stay was really comfy and the shower was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back.

Excellent service and great food. Very cosy rooms too. Be sure to type in the right Fox and Hounds as there are two in the area!

1st time back for a very long time. Last time I was here the restaurant was upstairs. That area is now several guest rooms. The restaurant is modern and they serve traditional good quality food. I had the sautéed mushroom starter (The roll was gluten free) The Lamb main. (Asked how I wanted it cooked. Love mine pink) was tender and moist with sautéed potatoes and mixed veg. I finished off with a glorious white chocolate and raspberry Crème Brûleé. It was great to speak to both Aaron and Michael (The chefs) in the relaxing and cosy bar area afterwards. They ask for and embrace feedback. The whole front of house and kitchen team are young and excited about what they do and want to make things the best than can.
Overall a great experience. I will pop in to sample the lunchtime menu as well soon.
P.S. Forgot to mention a nice selection of Wye Valley Ales.
