Very eager to serve and please! Sunday lunch brisket Beef was falling apart and delicious. Desert was eye popping and salivating to the mouth! Calm relaxing upmarket atmosphere. Would really recommend for a treat as the children's meals were free too!

A very disappointing evening, we shall not be returning. I've been to The Foresters before changing to a vegan diet and thoroughly enjoyed it so had been looking forward to having another meal there.
Via their Facebook page, after entering a competition of theirs I was offered 15% off if I booked a table direct with them. They confirmed at this time they were changing the current menu but would ensure vegan options would be available.
On arrival, all went well, the staff knew to cater for vegan and said they would provide the options when we were seated. We were presented menus (no vegan options) and left to decide. The waitress came to take our order to which I explained I didn't know what options I had. She told me how the menu could be augmented to suit my diet, I chose to have bread and olives to start, cauliflower gnocchi as my main (both of which were my only options). She then returned to tell me the gnocchi wasn't actually vegan but they would roast some cauliflower for me - I agreed as I had no other choice!!!
To start, the olives were inedible. I have NEVER had olives served in so much oil, they were disgusting. The cauliflower main was also beyond disappointing, served with two different chutneys and a sprinkle of pine nuts, it was basically a plate of textured chutney.
My other half had pigeon and chorizo risotto to start and cod as a main, he too did not find his eating experience enjoyable. He stated the pigeon was over cooked and the cod tasteless. We decided not to have desserts and asked for the bill. This was presented without the offered 15% discount which was rectified. When we were asked how are food was, we explained how unhappy we were to which the waitress agreed to round the bill down to £50, a whole reduction of £1.08!!!!!
To top off the experience, there appeared to be very little communication between the waiting staff team and then between them and the kitchen. All in all, a terrible experience which won't be repeated EVER

We were here for a family celebration.

Visually inside it looked better than we were initially expected, pride obviously taken with presentation.
We were shown to our seats, shortly drinks and food orders taken.

Food was outstanding, well presented, steaks cooked to specification. The night was only let down, due to it taking 45~ Minutes to get 3 dessert
to us from time of ordering them, we were advised part way though this time that the delays where due to it being the dessert chefs first day. Obviously teething problems happen!
Unfortunately we had to prompt the kitchen again, a little further down the line.

However, this was all recognized by Foresters, off their own back. Who compensated us more than adequately for our extra waiting time.

The food was worth going back for, as is the venue, but most importantly decent staff that smile and are warm, that take notice of their customers.

This would be the lady with the tattoos.

8 of us visited the restaurant last night. Ambience and decor is superb...very relaxed. Friendly staff, although one member of serving team could do with some training. Food was mainly excellent and tasty although the steak quality was poor. Very chewy and gristly. Major thing for us was the lack of wines. Cellar needs to be restocked. It's a Local venue for us and hope that in time it will become a first class venue with just a few little tweaks and bit more attention to detail. Good luck and we will visit the venue again soon

Outstanding pub/restaurant & some of the nicest staff you’re ever likely to meet. Kirsty & Rhi looked after us from the moment we walked in the door. I’d rate it 6stars if I could - From the guys on a tandem

Decided to try their Sunday lunch. Wow they were huge. Lots of beautifully cooked meat & vegetables. The Yorkshire puddings were huge & everything beautifully presented. After the huge lunch we really struggled to eat the amazing sticky toffee pudding, but managed. Superb lunches & helpful staff

Was very happy with my overall dining experience. The staff were very attentive and very friendly and even though we had not pre-booked we had no trouble in getting a table. Food was delicious and was excellent value for money. Location is excellent and there is ample car parking.
