Penycae Inn Ltd

Fourth visit to Wales and fourth visit to the inn. As usual delicious food, the rack of lamb was great. Service was very attentive but food was tremendously slow as we waited for well over an hour to have our food on the table. As always, loved the atmosphere. Will come back.

A wonderful place for a stop along the way. The parrots are friendly and there are more animals to see. Proper country food and tasty. Recommended.

Would 100% recommend this pub. Sadly we visited when they were already fully booked food wise but we stayed for drinks, they had Corona on draft which is always a pleasant surprise. The food that was served around us looked and smelled amazing. This place also has its own Zoo!!!! It had meerkats and wallabies and lots of different types of birds and is totally free to enter but what made this place even more amazing (I’d give it 10 stars if I could) was the staff who were all amazingly friendly but in particular the manager that offered to drive us back to our camp site as it was raining and it would be a very long taxi wait. Seriously how nice is that. If we’re ever back in the area we’ll be back for sure!!

Second visit here to this stunning place. Such a friendly bunch and the owner is fab. Lovely relaxed bar area and a very nice restaurant upstairs. Food is stunning and not too pricey. Would totally recommend it. And....you get the micro zoo too. Perfect for an afternoon out. Lovely outside seating areas too if it's a dry day. We'll be back, of course. 👌

Best steak burger I've ever ever had! So juicy and flavoursome,cooked to perfection. The little zoo at the rear is a hidden gem too. If you're nearby I'd recommend.

Outstanding food, every bite was delicious!!!! The lasagne on the chefs special was absolutely stunning and the brownie was heavenly!!! Even the chips were good!! The staff are friendly!! Lovely place!!

Absolutely loved the Xmas dinner here. I didn't photo it though as, well it was too gorgeous and munched it straight down. Have a pic of the steak though which was the best my brother has ever had!
The staff and atmosphere there is brilliant and we have already booked for next year!
