Burnley General Teaching Hospital

Attended 17th July with my 5 year old son. Firstly, nurse C and the reception staff are a credit to the hospital, excellent and nurse C went out of her way.
My issue is with Doctor, the eye specialist. I work as a senior clinician in the NHS myself, manage teams and I am disgusted by the attitude and complete lack of personal skills this doctor possess.

Walked into the room my son and I were waiting and said "is it Sam, ok can I have him". She then disappeared down the corridor for us to find, no idea where she went. Once we went into the room, she didn't even advise where to sit. No introduction, no "hello my name is" (this is a national drive and requirement) and made no attempt whatsoever to communicate with my 5year old. My son and I could hear her shouting the nurses from her room and felt this was rude, even drew a comment from my son "why is that lady shouting".

Questions were abrupt and abrasive, cut me off when I tried to answer. At the end of consultation, she held a piece of paper out but continued to look down and said that was for reception; completely dismissive and rude.

My 5 year old even thanked her at the end and she didn't even acknowledge.

As a clinician with a great deal of experience, I am disgusted. You have no place treating patients and really should reconsider your career. Passing exams and having a GMC number does not give you the superiority and freedom to be rude and unprofessional.

Which car park will be closest to your "area"? Why is the hospital divided into so many sections? Will your appointment letter describe which "area" you should go to? Do the maps help?
The answers to all of these questions is disappointing and makes Burnley Hospital a destination where I hope to never visit again

Horrible hospital from the moment you drive in, chaos is an understatement.
Parking availability is like hitting the lottery, cars parked on double yellows, footpaths etc, Area 10 is not sign posted! At every turn you see “staff parking”
Sort it out absolute ridiculous!

I had a procedure done in Elective Department at Burnley Hospital I would like to thank the nursing staff and theatre staff for a very professional procedure, they put me at ease throughout the day and kept me informed while I was waiting. I cannot praise them enough, a very hard working professional team.

This place is an absolute joke. They have failed my gran so many times and discharged her when she wasnt ready to come home. They have left her sat in dirty wet clothing. They haven't been keeping up with her medication or making sure she is eating properly. They have left her crying her eyes out when I have asked them to console her. They have lied to her. They don't keep me upto date with how things are going and it is impossible to get threw to anyone at that place. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Rude obnoxious staff on the maternity post natal ward. Talking over people & really condescending & unprofessional. Turned what should be a happy experience very negative. No wonder this hospital has bad reviews & even worse reputation. Wake up !

I had a very bad experience at burnely hospital car park. This car park is supposed to be safe but it isn't safe Instead its dangerous as in broad daylight someoje jacked my car and stolen my converter from my car and that is very expensive . I reported to the police and they told me to speak to my car insurance. This message is for awareness to park safely and responsibly.⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
