We don’t have words to describe the amazing people in this department.
Form the minute are daughter was born the doctors and the nurses was there for as with answers and support in this very stressful and emotional situation ( Are baby daughter Iris was born at 31 weeks and 6 days) but the people in this department make as feel safe and in good hands from day 1.
After the course of 23 days which we stayed in the hospital with Iris we was more amazing about the care of this department I will not need to name the stuff because all of them was 100% there for as and for are baby with Answers (and Believe me we put a lot of questions) and support.
The video and messaging service is awesome we love it knowing that once we went home over the night we receiving updates about Iris(if she pop, eat, sleep ) plus a video ore a picture that make as feel more relax.
The morning visit form the doctors was always reassuring and the amount of information and explanations of what is happening was always make as feel that we are part of any decision that is made for are daughter.
The nurses looking after Iris day and night was always there to answer as any questions and give us guidance and support.
I wish to all the parents to don’t need to be in this department but if you are be reassured that your in good hands and a amazing team is looking after your baby and you.
We just want to end this review with a big THANK YOU TO All OF YOU
Ion, Mergyul and baby Iris
They treat you with respect and dignity. Downsides is there is only one operation theatre so they kept delaying my operation over and over again, so I went 29 hours not being allowed to eat. I wish they just moved it to the next day and let me eat. Also they won't let me go to the shop to get a newspaper or something, or even let me pay a nurse to do so. Also the room has no shower or wash area so I sort of had to shave in the ward main area in front of other patients at night 😅
Staff from the surgeon and head nurse down to trainee nurses and cleaners work well as a unit. Very professional, I felt like I was in safe hands.
Most staff are friendly and professional.
Another problem (not the hospital's fault) is there is a young couple and the boy keeps trying to exaggerate the girl's pain and we heard him say to her that he wants to get her checked out and would also like some morphine. Basically he wants to be the macho man and get his girlfriend to jump the line in front of other patients who are in pain too but less whiny or less entitled.
Edit: dropped from 4 to 3 stars. They decided to discharge me at 10am which is fine, but didn't get the paperwork until 2.30pm and then sent me off without anyone to get me home, they pointed me to the taxi phone then went away. No taxis available. The receptionist rolled her eyes at me when i asked for help and sarcastically told me to go back to my ward if I was in pain (I was in literal stitches and yes in a lot of pain). They literally didn't care that I couldn't get home nor did they care that the only person at my house was my girlfriend who herself is suffering with covid. They said we should avoid each other as I am very weak and vulnerable one day after my operation, but then didn't care that we only have one room in my flat. So yeah, if you aren't rich enough to have a big house and a personal driver then this hospital stops caring thay you might be in danger
