Amazing experience. My GP sent me to A&E after a blood test with alarming levels. I was seen within 5 minutes. A cannula was fitted immediately pain free & bloods taken. Within an hour I had chest x-ray and scan with dye. A wonderful doctor swiftly had results and I was allowed to go home. The kindness and expertise from the crew at Barnet was immense. A huge thank you.

Have had the best experience with the whole birthing team at Barnet Hospital, five star service. Excellent aftercare particularly with a student midwife named Samantha S, who helped my wife with breastfeeding. She was very knowledgeable and so patient with us. She will go far :)

One single picture that means a lot to me. I just want to say a big thank you to all people involved in the Barnet Maternity who help me and my wife to get to this moment. Nurses, midwifes, Doctors, etc.
In all the 36 hours that we stayed there, since minute one, they were so helpful with us giving us a 5 stars service. Thanks!

My dad was hospitalised here for 3 days and we are appalled by the experience. Arrived at a&e at 17:45 on Wednesday and despite being told it was a 6 hour wait to see a Dr my dad was not seen for 13 hours and all the while I stayed in the car all night waiting to see what was happening. It started with him being made to sit outside for 3 hours because he was positive for Covid though presented for an unrelated matter. The staff simply forgot he was waiting outside and it wasn't until I insisted he be brought inside that they remembered to bring him in to the covid iso room and start summarising fluids for dehydration delaying his talent by 3 hours post triage. Staff hardly checked on him to the point the IV fluids stopped and hasn't worked for an hour and because noone checked on him it wasn't adjusted for a full hour while he couldn't alert anyone. When I pointed this out to a nurse she started shouting at me. Any time my dad asked a question he was treated like a nuisance. I get the a&e is busy but they should still test patients with compassion and kindness. When my dad was finally seen by a Dr after 13 Hours he had to be admitted and for 3 days alone in the Covid ward my dad was given very little information about his treatment and was again treated like a nuisance. He was even shouted at by a nurse when she came to give him more fluids because he asked if he needed more since the previous nurse told him the previous IV would be the last one. Every time he asked something about treatment or meds he was told they would check never to return again. The staff were rude and impatient and severely lacking in cross cultural awareness which you would think it's crucial for hospital care staff. The only individuals on the ward who were good to deal with was head nurse Diana, administrator Brian and a nurse/carer called Cristina. I'm honestly so upset at how my father was treated with such a lack of dignity and respect while lying Ill in a hospital in a foreign country.

Writing this while still waiting for my teen daughter who was admitted to a&e ("Rapid"assessment) almost four hours ago! I have had to wait outside for her the whole time without any updates as to what's going on except from herself by text. She's now waiting a ridiculously long amount of time for blood results and they've only just decided to do one more test. The waiting area has not felt safe due to an issue with another patient. There is no vending machine or water available and I'm not even sure where the nearest bathroom is. Didn't get a chance to eat or take anything before going in the ambulance with her so I may well be the next patient!

Would honestly rate 0 stars if I could! AVOID AT ALL COST, would rather die then attend this hospital. The staff were very rude and unhelpful especially the nurses.

I was put into a sideroom, ignored for hours on end, left to freeze due to the very low aircon temperatures and not taken seriously when asking for a blanket/cover, just left to freeze and shiver, worsening my illness.

My friend came with me because of my high anxiety levels, but was rudely told to leave, with no consideration to my mental health and anxiety, or to my friend who had travelled miles away with me in the ambulance with no easy way home.

I had a mother and two children put into the same room as me, because apparently we were both suspected covid, which was not discussed with me. I had been testing negative multiple times a day and no covid test was ever done in A&E. I had a severe chest infection and no consideration was given to me having 3 other people with illnesses that could have been spread easily due to my lowered immune system. No apology was given either.

The doctor examined me, sent me for a chest x ray and never came back to inform me of results or further care, I was just discharged after an hour with some medication from a nurse calling my full name down the corridor.

Whilst in the sideroom, I heard many calls for help from other patients, ignored and also rudely spoken to by staff including porters. A woman had not eaten for 12 hours and she only asked a member of staff for some food and he replied with 'okay oh my god' with attitude and a very poor manner. Being a healthcare professional, seeing the way patients are treated and hearing the cries for help was something I wish I didn't have to hear or see. To be a part of the NHS made me feel so downgraded to know that patients are cared for in such a poor manner.

This was my first time going to Barnet Hospital and I was extremely disappointed with the care I received, and will not be returning to this hospital.

Things to improve on: Better communication and care given to patients, use a patient-centred care approach, not put patients together with different illnesses into a sideroom, not lie to patients to get rid of a friend by saying I was suspected covid, have proper care and communication with a doctor after waiting 10 hours to see the doctor, have the relevant information about observations and results passed over so patients can understand and be involved in their care, effort put in for a patient to have a blanket so their illness doesn't worsen (there were no blankets in the department and staff refused to go and get one elsewhere), patient privacy and dignity to be respected at all times. Doctors should also stick together and not contradict each other.

Visited A&E with my 7months old baby, waited over 7hrs as there was only one DR working. They wanted a urine simple as my baby was not feeding, vomiting and had diarrhoea for the past few days. After a long wait my baby was examined on my lap as there was no beds, they had lost the urine simple and sent us home with nothing. The service was awful babies/children sleeping on chairs. Please take your children else were where they can be looked after properly.

Brought my son in on New Year’s Eve with a broken arm. I can only say the whole experience from check in to discharge was outstanding! We were in and out in 3hours and all doctors and nurses made our encounter so easy and caring. We were visiting london for New Years and they made us feel so welcome. Well done NHS! My son actually enjoyed his visit and wanted me to say a big thanks to the team on duty for everything.
