Want to make a shout out for the NHS and especially for Watford General Hospital. had to go there recently with a cut thumb. I was Triaged Within five minutes, and then went to see a nurse practitioner about 10 minutes after that. had first class service from a wonderful nurse called Miriam. seven stitches later I was on my way home within an hour and a half - when it works it really does work and I am so appreciative of all they do to help us when we have minor injuries & are so overstretched. many many thanks

Might be a bit run down outside but the staff are generally friendly and helpful.

Appointments are sometimes a long wait which can be frustrating with little kids but they seem to be a lot smoother and see you more quickly.

Spent 2 months with my baby in the neonatal unit and the staff were fantastic. Only one matron in a red shirt had an attitude problem but the staff all knew about it so I didn’t take it further.

Let me start by saying that I would have given no star, but for the helpful receptionist. Date of visit 16th February 2022. The Streaming nurse Cheryl and the ogre (not sure of her name, but her badge string had Mariam), both lacked the simplest etiquette and curtesy. Very rude and uncouth. Lacked human empathy. The beauty is we shall all be ill and in need of help so watch out for karma. I spent 4 hours in agony. They refused to answer any questions or pretend to be helpful. I thought they were terrible tilk I met Shrek on steroids. The doctor did not listen to anything I said and still prescribed the same medication that caused the reason I visited urgent care. I had to leave and make an appointment with my GP. What a waste of my time. Very horrid experience.

I had an appointment at Watford General Hospital on the 7th October.I was there at 5.50am for appointment at 9.30.am
I sat on a chair near WHSmith in the hospital.
I was reading a book and in the corner of my eyes I saw a guy in WHSmith cleaning ,then bringing stock, checking, bringing newspapers. He was working non stop Not a cup of coffee...He was just running up and down sorting ,serving ...I just couldn't stop admiring how hard working he was.
If it was his own business I can understand.
Till 8 am that guy never stopped.
WHSmith has got a very reliable, hardworking individual .Well done and keep up the good work.

We went there yesterday as I started bleeding profusely and I am 14+3 weeks pregnant. We were there for 5 hours without being seen by any doctor. The hospital is shortstaffed and most of the staffs who handled us lacks empathy. You can clearly see that almost everyone is just trying to get by their day. Thankfully, there is nurse Annika (i think she is from maternity department) who went above and beyond and did not let us leave the hospital without being scanned. Our scan went well, our baby is fine despite the bleed and passing clots. Without her help, we would have been sent home, not seen by a doctor and would have to come back and do the scan on Monday. From one nurse to another, thank you so much! We really appreciate your help.

Fantastic service and brilliant staff. The NHS is brutality understaffed and under paid yet was treated with respect. If you’re in a rush expect to wait x amount of time and then some but be nice and you’ll get sorted out.

My elderly mother has had quite a few admissions to Watford General over the years, the most recent being after a fall which broke her hip. Both she and I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the kindness and skill of all the staff at this hospital. The care has been exemplary every time. It is clear that staff are often working under enormous pressures including bed shortages and rude or aggressive patients and yet my mother has always been looked after very well and has nothing but praise for the hospital. She is a retired nurse, so she recognises good care when she receives it. We are very, very grateful to Watford General and it’s wonderful staff.

It’s currently 4am. I’ve been waiting in accident & ‘emergency’ (A&E) for around 4 hours.

Not sure how the hospital has managed to average 3.4 stars when people have all the time in the world whilst waiting to be seen to load up Google maps and give their honest thoughts on the hospital.

As mentioned, I’m still waiting in A&E, and at this point I’m wondering if I’ll be seen today, tomorrow, or next week..

Update: waited over 8 hours.
