Amersham Health Centre

The reception staff really let this health centre down. Calling to make an appointment they've taken on a 'gatekeeper' role when it comes to seeing the doctor. The result is no compassion or warmth to the patient, which is very concerning for vulnerable people calling up. Putting patients off seeing the doctor should not be the job and questioning people at length on the phone about their medical problem is hugely inappropriate. Really a little bedside manner/training is all it would take, or just don't do that job if you don't have a caring side!

Probably the worst GP surgery I have ever come across. Lost samples, no calls to patients awaiting results, ridiculous 'policy' and processes that actually hinder access to medical care, rude reception staff that cannot be bothered. Frustrating, heat-attack inducing, stressful and unpleasant to deal with, AVOID!!! The doctors on the other hand are lovely, although I note the turn over is quite high. After years of exasperating poor service, I am finally going to move our entire family to another surgery further away because it is not worth it to our health to deal with this one.

Can I say what a lovely reception I had from Janet this afternoon. She was clear and kind and efficient. I was able to get an appointment for both myself and husband to generally suit us-I just want to say how blessed we are to have such good local medical treatment that we can access easily, speedily and cost effectively.

I think they work very hard and can be swift to refer when concerned. Been going here for years. You get the occasional GP who you don’t gel with but this is rare and on the whole I trust them which is the main thing!

Doctors are amazing the reception seem to be very rude.used to be an amazing receptionist but the one in there now has an attitide told me.i was being transferred and hung up on me after i told her i needed help with my repeat percription

Great staff here, very friendly and so helpful. Dr Layng a superstar and helped us so much.

Quite appalling patient service at reception. We stood there for at least two or three minutes before the receptionist even looked up from her computer. When she did acknowledge us - not a smile, not a ‘good morning’, just: “yes?”. We felt like a complete hindrance. No matter how busy or stressed, surely professionalism should always be expected . Staff training required urgently.

Car park is a nightmare when people insist on dumping their cars in hatched areas so you can’t get in to safely drop off elderly relatives
