Threads

I remember Threads back in the day when it was a tiny store, located next to Manor Pharmacy. Loads of wonderful items for sale, happy and friendly assistants.

Then they moved to their current High Street location........ more space for gorgeous gifts, equally lovely service.

But, since about a year ago,the service level has dropped hugely, with assistants who are only intent on taking the money and putting the items into a bag, no chat, no smile, no interest in the customer.

The other day, I went to view their Christmas ornament display. I love these ornaments and , each year, it has become our family custom to buy a few more for the tree.
Armed with this year's choice I approached the till, to be met by an assistant who had no interest in the purchase, no conversation, no smile. Only for the fact that there were other people waiting to be served, I would have asked her to cancel the transaction as she turned something that should have been a pleasurable occasion into a dismal event.
I like to support our local shops but this is it for me with Threads....next year I will buy a few more ornaments for our tree, but not at this unfriendly establishment.

Wonderful shop which is bigger than appears. It is full of interesting and quirky books, cards, gifts, jewellery etc. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

So many lovely cards and different items to peruse and then buy.

Hands Face Space Consideration. The shop to visit for all your sewing, knitting, fabric crafting needs. They have a good selection of threads, needles, elastic webbing etc. The prices is very affordable too.

It's a card, gift, and party paraphernalia shop, and has a good variety of good gifts that more often than not fulfill your needs!

This is such a lovely shop and one of the first places I go when looking for unique gifts.
