I had two consecutive appointments to check and test breathing capability and then advice and help with my condition. Sadly I was told I needed oxygen to help me get about but everyone there has me loads of time and support. Times are difficult for the NHS and staff are working flat out and too hard most of the time. You would never know it though from the loving way they treat people and try to help them through hard times. Don't know how to thank them really.

Most of the nurses are extremely sweet and caring but almost all of the doctors I have interacted with there are not good at all! They are incredibly insensitive and I know of course they have to be to an extent but they are not understanding at all. My entire experience there aside from the nurses was extremely traumatic, at one point I was in A&E, in and out of consciousness and throwing up every few minutes and I was left alone, completely unattended to for hours! Didn't even have any sort of bed/trolley to lie on so I literally ended up having to lie down on the floor. Of course I know they're busy but this was completely unacceptable. And again, I know they are busy there of course but whenever I asked for anything for example a cup of water as I was throwing up so much, they just disappeared and I never managed to get anything! I waited about 6 hours for one thing! Not saying it's the hospitals fault but the waiting times are extremely bad.

Been just short of 20hours in the A&E department with my daughter waiting for her to be admitted. Staff here doing the best they can under trying circumstances but it's a disgraceful situational and needs immediate attention. Two stars for A&E staff but nothing else More like a third world country

After an unplanned c section with strong pain and my first child I was rudely kicked out from the hospital and ever since giving birth I was made uncomfortable that I should leave. It was my first child and an unplanned c section. When I demanded to stay longer nurses and staff behaved rude and pretended I was asking for a queen's treatment and that all ladies leave within 24 hours. It's disgusting how patients are being treated. Staff needs to work on their attitude towards patients and needs to be more welcoming and understanding. Nurses are a bunch of gossipers. Shame on our NHS!

After reading some of the reviews I felt I had to leave one . Due to life long illness I have been an inpatient at BVH on several occasions. And have been admitted on occasion through A+E. My treatment has always been on point , I have been on several wards including ward 2, 5, 12, 23 high dependency and ICU , at one point I was an inpatient for 6 months. The staff from cleaners to surgeons and everyone in-between have always treated me very well. The Nurses on ward 2 (my most recent stay) were wonderful and did there very best for me ensuring I was safe when there was a breakout of Noro virus on the ward as well as Covid ongoing in the hospital . 8 years ago the amazing ICU DRs and Nurses saved my life , I can never repay what they did . I was given just 3% chance of survival . I could say many more wonderful things they have all done during my stays. You often only hear when it's bad , which is why I felt I had to write this review.

I was rushed in via ambulance on Monday evening, taken for an emergency ct scan and then plonked in a chair back in a and e for 16 hours with no check up at all!! After that was moved onto a bed in a freezing corridor for 6 hours before being admitted to a ward where I stayed 4 days waiting for an mri scan, every single person I spoke to had a similar experience, this should not be in 2022 and needs urgently addressing! The majority of the nurses and staff are doing an amazing job under horrendous circumstances I dont know how they do it

Like anyone who enters A&E you can never be sure how long you will be there. We were there for a comparatively short five hours. Some patients had been in there for 36 hours. The staff were hard working, looked like they were attempting to hide their obvious stress, they were very professional under very difficult circumstances. It's never a good time to get iIl, but now is worst time.

Ended up in a &e first night of a 6 night break ,it was very very busy ,we were there just over 9 hours in total but in that time I had several tests and was seen numerous times by doctors and nurses.

It was a Friday night waiting times not helped by the endless arrivals if drunks ,idiots and various undesirables accompanied by the police.

Staff very very hardworking ,it's not perfect what is but many many thanks to them all.
