I nearly feel guilty letting others in on this little secret on the furthest edge of Green Lanes' seemingly endless string of cheap and cheerful - and yet as tasty as you can get - eateries. This is one a kind though. Whereas most places around offer great Turkish fare, Marina's cuisine hails from a different corner of the Mediterranean, cooking hearty dishes just like a trusty Greek old mama would. And yes, limited selection, as some reviewers notice. And yes, some of the food is re-heated. This is not a restaurant, it is a quick bite place. But the food is definitely not frozen, and the proof is in the tenderness of the stews, if you are lucky to find them, in the freshness of the salads and much more. And I still have not mentioned the gyros pitta. That is the absolute highlight, and that alone is worth going for. As good as in Greece and lavish with all the fillings: tzatziki, chips and much more. All the rest is an accessory. And a good one at that.

Nice greek food, but editing my review..... due to rude staff in subsequent visits, and also the fact they don't accept any sort of card, in my view cash only is in the past. I've being told of and advised to go to withdrawal cash in next door off license, and surprise, 2.99 per withdrawal. They keep their food, I keep my dignity, wont go back there again.

The gyros was serviceable but this is probably the only reason I'd come back. We visited on a Saturday evening and the place was suspiciously empty (when others around it were not). There were only pre-cooked meals available, which I suspect were reheated in the microwave before served. We tried the spinach pie, which I suspect was store-bought and the pastichio (a sort of Greek oven pasta), which was a bland as it gets. They didn't accept credit card. Prices were ok in general but too expensive for what you get. During our visit a few more customers came in and they all got the gyros souvalki. Probably that's the highlight of the place.

If only it were possible to give a zero rating. I ordered through Uber, lamb chops and a Greek salad. From the time I opened the delivery bag I know it wasn’t going to be good, because all I could smell was rancid meat. Instead of a finely chopped Greek salad I found roughly quartered tomatoes and white onions (instead of red) which looked like they had been cut with a very dull knife. The lamb chops weren’t chops, they were knuckle and smelt extremely rancid. Close to £25 of food I couldn’t eat. When I called to complain, I was told to call the next day and speak to the manager. When I said I wanted an immediate reply I was offered a bottle of Coke (which I don’t drink) When I kept insisting that something be done with regards to my order, the man on the other end said he was busy, he didn’t speak English, and promptly hung up the phone. When I rang back he hung up the phone. I shall definitely be pursuing a refund. How the hell they have more that a 1-star rating is beyond me.

Small family run business, never a busy place, but I’ve always enjoyed the pork souvlaki. Tried some of their cooked food and it was fresh and full of taste. But the main reason I keep visiting this place for a few years now, is the wrap, which is the best value for money in all north london. So best of luck to them!

I have been to this place twice in the space of a few months. The food was ok. However when we went to pay, the guy (i believe it's the owner) overcharged us. The price on the menu was different to what we were charged. The second time, a couple of friends were in the area, and as it was close by they suggested going there. I decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately exactly the same thing happened as the last time. You go to the till, and the guy uses some very creative mathematics to overcharge you. He doesn't give you a receipt, just does the sums (mumbling them very quickly so that you don't know what is what) and then presents you with the final sum. Not only that but he was very rude and borderline aggressive without any reason. In my opinion the reason he does that is to get people to pay quickly because he is worried that if people challenge him on the bill the truth will come out. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we paid but we definitely won't be going there again.

I eat here every time I'm in the area. Their pitta gyros is excellent (the chicken one, I haven't tried the pork). I once tried the moussaka - it was a huge, homemade, delicious dish. I also tried the homemade baklava, same as above (huge portion and delicious, tasted like the one my grandma used to make). Very good prices and always friendly service, thank you. (PS one of the reviews is questioning if they're really Greek, yes they definitely are).
