Enjoyed our stay at the Anchorage. Good communication from Meggan. Bed was extremely comfortable and our room was spotless. Will be back in the summer 🙂

Really lovely guest house. Amanda was lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be staying here again when we're next in the area. Lovely breakfasts to wake up to in the morning. Our room was clean and comfortable and perfect for our wee family of three. Right in the centre of Balloch - lots of places to eat around the guest house, or in walking distance. A few great parks for the little ones a short walk along Loch Lomond as well. Would highly recommend staying here.

We (our son 3,5yo, hubby and I) were surprised how the guest house has 4* service!!. Location is easy to find, has car parking and surrounded by cafe, bars, local shops which very good food and friendly people. We normally staying in 4* hotel as there's no in this area, we decided to book in guest house and found mostly good reviews from The Anchorage Guest House which we agreed! Amanda, the host very friendly and very informative about the area, must visits and good food. The price is included with breakfast which very full portion and has many options and all made fresh in the morning!!. The room is very luxury with minimalist design, bed super comfortable and excellent cleanliness (we got double bed and single bed). Heater works well, the shower pressure and temperature perfectly work, iron and iron board also provided, netflix is on, the body soap, cotton bud, cotton is there too! Amazing experience and definitely will be back again! Very very recomended.!!

We had the most amazing stay here. Amanda was attentive, kind and cooked us a wonderful vegan breakfast. The room was absolutely spotless. We slept very well. Location is fantastic! Thank you so much :)

Be sure to check with Amanda before booking to get the best room for your needs. We (2 adults + 5 year old) stayed 2 nights in the family suite and would highly recommend as it is a real home from home, with your own entrance and separate living area and bedroom making it easier to cope with napping kids (or parents). It is clear Amanda has worked very hard since taking over in last few years to make the place very comfortable. She is friendly, attentive and very good at what she does also offering loads of local knowledge. Only thing I would suggest for the room is more things like mirrors and shelves to make it even more comfortable for longer stays. Anchorage Guest House is central in Balloch surrounded by top rated restaurants and within walking distance of Loch Lomond views. Looking forward to coming back again.

Extremely disappointed…..had such high expectations after all positive feedback in relation to accommodation. Booking all fine 30 minutes away guest house, after travelling from London. Get message from booking.com via email stating guest house had cancelled booking, bear in mind no phone call or anything else. Tried to call guest house, no luck, drove to guest house. ran bell after 8 minutes wait owner comes to door. No apology or anything just stated has been close contact due to covid so all bookings cancelled. We ask where can we stay, answer can’t help it’s the law….. we then had to without any knowledge of the area try to find alternative accommodation. Owner was rude and didn’t care… finally found something 30 minutes away… I am really annoyed she could of called, she could of advised us where to go for help.. my two kids were really worried that they would have had to sleep in the car.. Many other amazing places don’t risk being treated like this… worst ever customer service.

Fantastic hospitality Amanda couldn't do enough for us the place is absolutely immaculate and the beds really comfy it's also in a great location with everything on your doorstep...oh and the breakfast is second to none! I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
