We have stayed at Airds Farm numerous times over recent years and cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone. Mandy & Mick are amazing hosts, friendly and welcoming, accommodating to your every need, nothing is too much trouble, and they are both fountains of knowledge from recommending great walks - places to eat - things to see and do !

The house is in an amazing idyllic setting perfectly situated for visiting Dumfries and Galloway. The rooms are spacious, quiet and sparklingly spotless with all the finishing touches you could wish for with great views of the loch and the surrounding completely unspoilt countyside. There is ample parking and it is easily accessable from the main Castle Douglas to New Galloway road.

Mandy's breakfasts should come with a health warning.....you are going to put on weight during your stay!! They are better than a 5 star hotel anywhere !! Actually I am sure with the range of other nationalities I have met staying at Airds Mandy's food and breakfasts are probably by now world renowned !! They really set you up for the day ( no need for lunch ) there is always something for every taste, full of good quality local produce and if she hasn't got just ask and next day you will have it.

Airds Farm is a real home from home the best B&B I know

Where to start..... Best B&B I have stayed at and the breakfasts are amazing!!!, lovely owners that can't do enough for you, so welcoming and friendly and very well placed for all activities and scenery. Airds Farm has a lovely relaxing atmosphere about it and even if the weather is bad you can sit in the conservatory and watch the wildlife and have a drink (or 2). Definitely a place I will return to again and would 100% recommend to anyone. Thanks so much for the stay!!!!

Great place, nothing was too much trouble for Mandy and Mick. Room was spacious with comfortable bed, good shower in en-suite, fantastic views from windows with plenty of wildlife to watch. Excellent breakfast and Mandy was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and facilities - I would happily recommend to anyone.

Quite simply, and quite aside from the spectacular scenery and serenity of the place, the bright and clean ensuite room, the delicious made to order breakfasts, and the happy conversations, Lyndsey, our host, went way beyond her duties.

I, having acquired a dental issue of some pain, she volunteered to drive my wife and me to the dental clinic in Dumfries, and then wanted to wait for us while I was treated.

In fact, because we had decided to "bus it" because of the exorbitant car rental prices in Dumfries, and even though the bus stop is only a short walk from the farm to Crossmichael, she went out of her way let us know she was going to town and dropped us off at bus stops or even took us into Castle Douglas, all the while resisting our thanks with "it's no bother ... it's what we do!" Indeed it is!

When we also inquired about a laundromat in Castle Douglas, she said, "No, why would you do that? Use mine!"

Our visit here was wonderful! The hospitality, mixed with kindness, will stick with us for a very long time.

10 stars 🌟 out of 5!

Spent a lovely few days at Airds Farm B&B. Mandy was the perfect host. The room was sparkly clean and light and airy with lots of little add ons like a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and hair and shower products. Lovely views, watching red kites flying overhead. Close to Castle Douglas with lots of shops. Would definitely go again x
