Southlands Guest House

Stayed here a few weeks ago and would certainly recommend, Chrissy is a fantastic host as well!

Dirty place, watch out for '' stains '' on allegedly clean towels, dirty glasses and even contents of bin tipped down the toilet, not even flushed.
These are the most outstanding criticisms, there are others.
Sounds a bit far fetched? Something out of a movie?
No, sadly not, it's for real.

I cannot fault Southlands Guest House - value for money! Very friendly and attentive staff, fantastic breakfast and only a short walk away from the town centre - 10/10!

Smelt of stale smoke and dampness. Dirty cluttered room with no lightbulbs or electric sockets. Rather sleep in my car. Awful place.

I feel safe there

I was homeless and was given Southland's guest house as a temporary accommodation until there was a room available in the hostel. As I arrived I was asked to change my holey jeans and have a shower as she has medical staff staying there. Bearing in mind that I only had two pairs of jeans, the ones I was wearing had holes in, and the other pair were covered in paint. So I didn't look very presentable. I found this very rude and obnoxious. She seems rather snobby

Wish I had read reviews before staying here. Landlady pleasant but this place needs serious updating. Smells badly of damp. And found out when got home this place is used for homeless people. Not Ideal.
