Adam Hooton Guitar Tuition

I have been taking lessons with Adam for just over a year now. Prior to beginning I had been self-taught for a number of years and had found myself stuck in a rut with no idea how to progress. During my first lesson, Adam helped identify areas in which I was less advanced than others, and we proceeded to work on those. In just a few weeks, I was seeing progress. A year on, I am a much better player than I had ever thought possible. This is testament to Adam's skill as a teacher, and his enthusiasm for, and dedication to, teaching. Adam is also very easy to get along with and lessons are always a comfortable environment for making mistakes - and then learning from them!

Lessons have always been varied and tailored to my needs and interests - a mixture of the RGT acoustic guitar syllabus (I am currently working my way through the Grade 4 book) and contemporary and classic songs from Adam's extensive list of tabs - and I always look forward to them. I have been incredibly happy with my lessons and progress so far and couldn't recommend Adam enough as a teacher.

Adam is a brilliant teacher with a huge amount of patience who has been so good with my son who has some learning difficulties and extra needs. When he started with Adam a few months ago he had never played a guitar in his life - he now plays really well and his confidence has grown enormously. Most importantly of all, he is really enjoying his lessons and practises a lot - and I know from my own experience that it takes an excellent music teacher to inspire such enthusiasm. We are so glad we found Adam - he is perfect for us.

Adam has been teaching my son Nathan for around 8 months now. Nathan really enjoys his online guitar lessons. Adam can perfectly explain what needs to be done and how to do it. There is no pressure, Adam keeps Nathan motivated by providing positive feedback, sending videos and soundtracks as well as always being very friendly, patient and helpful.

Adam has been teaching our son Guitar (Online) for nearly two years. Adam is Reliable, Patient, Consistent and Competent. He truly knows his craft and loves the guitar. Our son looks forward to his lessons, is achieving and is a much more confidently child. I can honestly say I love to hear our son play the guitar now.

Adam has been teaching guitar to my daughter for the last year via her secondary school. He continued the lessons online during lockdowns which was excellent, they were very well organised and ran smoothly. My daughter really enjoys lessons. Adam is a good teacher, patient and encouraging. He provides a good variety of learning material. He is reliable and he was happy to rearrange a lesson when my daughter couldn't make.

Adam has been teaching my son for over a year and a half and he's been brilliant. All of the lessons have been on Zoom and my nine year old has stayed really interested and motivated by everything he and Adam have learnt together. Adam is patient, organised and balances teaching Ronin current tracks he is interested in with preparing him for grade exams. We highly recommend Adam as a teacher, whatever your guitar level, particularly given how well my son's guitar playing has progressed with him.
