Been here twice, bustling salon, in department store. Lots of smiles upon entering, they even give you coffee/tea while you wait. They use Aveda products so it's norishing and botanical and your hair doesn't just feel good on the outside but inside too. Kliff the creative colour director did my consultation and colour and ended up eith catwalk hair. Talked me through all the styling products too. Was in safe hands and highly recommend!

Jo is fantastic & I highly recommend. She only does cutting & her expertise in this area shows. I'd gone to her after having a terrible cut at another salon, which I'd mistakenly walked into as I couldn't get an appointment at Gina Conway's before an evening event. She spent time explaining exactly what she would do to fix it & reassured me on the final result. I felt very anxious, as it was going to be shorter, but she made me feel at ease & I'm very happy with the results. Will be going back in a couple of months for another trim. Thanks Jo!
Additionally the reception staff are so lovely and I had a wonderful head/shoulder massage at the start - just a really nice experience all round. Thank you team Gina Conway! 😊👍🌟

If I could rate this lower I would…
but it wouldn’t be fair to the person who did my nails as she was very sweet to me and the amazing massages they gave to me.

I wanted to get my hair cut and curled, but instead I got uneven hair.

The curls went away in one day due to almost no product being used to keep the curls in for longer.

I had to get my hair cut again at home due to the fact that it was so visibly uneven once the curls had gone.

I was even charged extra for long and thick hair which I wouldn’t have minded if they had just done it properly.

Couldn’t believe a professional has done it so bad, and I wouldn’t come back here again. This is so unfair due to the lovely manicurist who did my nails.

I’m not impressed. I’ve used two Gina Conway salons before for a few years and had Aveda colour for nearly 10 years and this wasn’t a pleasant experience or feeling I left with going to this one. I had a hair colour consultation and literally have no clue what the full price of the quote is.

I found the girl on the till had poor customer service skills given I’ve left and still have no idea of the full quote and didn’t like her attitude either.

She said it was £200 for the balayage. Then she said do you want roots too? Yes I said, OK that’s an extra £90. I said and trim? She said plus £90. But then I also wanted a semi perm pre-pig too, she never mentioned that. So is that another £105 on top? Plus the treatment £30 plus the gloss he suggested probably another £50 so all in all balayage is £560? No idea. Why should we have to pay like that for all those additional types of colour anyway?! It’s crazy. The dye would only last a month or two at best on my hair.

Why not just say when asked the price: Yes madame right, so that’s £200 for this and will you be having a cut ok so that’s X for that and Y for that and Z for this so that would be a total of £xxx Madame.

Much more pleasant and accurate.

No I didn’t get that type of service. A list prices for Z list service.

I have gotten my hair done here for some time. It has always been decent to quite nice. So I decided to try out their nail services prior to my holiday. The day of my manicure appt they called to cancel. I was rescheduled for a few week later, after my holiday. Then the day before the rescheduled appointment they called to move it to later the next day with a different person. They have now again called in the morning of the appointment to cancel - with hardly an apology. I suspect that they either have major staffing issues or don't want to honour my 25% discount voucher. Either way, I won't be getting my nails done before a big event tomorrow. If I had cancelled with such short notice (especially 3xs), I would have been charged for the booking. Not the end of the world, but if this is how they have now started to run their business then I will look at getting my hair done somewhere else also. I do not recommend trying to schedule any nail services here. There are other outstanding nail places in Wimbledon.

I came to Gina Conway Wimbledon because a Buyagift voucher I’d bought a while back needed using. This meant I could have an Aveda facial, body massage and mini-manicure – a package that would have been well beyond my current resources had I not understood it was all pre-paid. The spa salon experience was good and the therapists lovely, so I had a really chilled afternoon...

… until a 'misunderstanding' occurred at the desk when I wanted to leave, and I was told to pay an additional £120 on top of the voucher cost! (Having returned to the Buyagift website I can see that the cost of the voucher has increased substantially since I purchased it, but I am not necessarily saying that was the reason for my supplemented bill, which at the time struck me as failure to read what the voucher covered.)

Although this brought me back down to earth with a bump (setting off a mixture of anxiety and flight or fight responses in my previously relaxed body), to her credit manager Melissa sorted out the issue of the unexpected charges promptly, and in a way that helped to restore my positive view of the business (hence 5 stars have still been awarded for the quality of the treatments I received).

I know that I won’t be able to come here again now and I’m not even sure I want to anyway. But I would definitely recommend Gina Conway Wimbledon as a great place to indulge in some self-care, based upon my overall experience on this afternoon's visit.

Bad experience. Not a warm welcome when entering. Cold water when hair being washed. No refreshments offered, only when the treatment was coming to a end.
Curls fell out by the time I got home. Very rushed!
Got the price wrong when going to pay, and when the price was corrected, I still have been overcharged according to my bank account. Will not be going back.
Used to be a very pleasant place to have your hair done around 5years ago, but sadly has declined.

Used to have really good service and staff there that’s why I remembered this place, but recent experience was such a disappointment. Had a hair cut done there, but the skill was so rough that the edge of my hair ended up in a flat and rigid staircase shape. Can’t believe any professional hair dresser will look at it and call it’s nice and finished, esp. I already chose the slightly higher rank price, in hope of getting a fairly experienced one. On top of that, the hair dresser put additional charge on my bill without notifying me in advance because she thinks my hair was long. I usually won’t mind that, but given the bad result i got in the first place, it was really pushing it. It makes me feel this place has lost its class and elegance and now just look for every penny it can get without appreciating customer experience.
