I just don’t get it.

People rave about this place and I really can’t see why.

The burgers are good and the portion sizes are bigger than usual for the chips and the bottomless fizzy drinks.

But the venue means that it’s like eating your food in a swimming pool changing room. Every available surface is tiled making it deafeningly loud and the bright lighting makes it almost unbearable to stay in for more than 10 minutes. Perhaps that’s part of the plan to get people out as quickly as possible.

Staff are friendly and although they got my order wrong from the limited menu they remade it without any fuss but most of them were horse from shouting over the noise at customers.

All of this is isn’t a deal breaker but then when you get charged £20 each it doesn’t make sense. Burger King is 1/3 of the price for the same thing or Byron/Honest is the same price for much more.

You choose.

Big massive burger with large portion of fries. Greatly flavoured. Great choice of milkshakes which tastes good. Best comparatively in market but cost is not affordable when with family. Worth trying it atleast once. Thank you so much for the good hospitality and customer service 😊

Finally plucked up the courage to remortgage my house just to finance a 5 guys meal. And guess what, it wasn't worth it. The fries are nice, not the massive portion that I was led to believe, yeah there was a decent portion but not £5.95's worth. And then there was the bacon cheese burger. Well put together, but where was the salad, the sauce, the flame grilled taste. All absent. Sorry 5 Guys but give me a Double Whopper, fries and a drink anyday of the week. It's not even the cost that annoyed me, just the distinct averageness of the food. Thanks for the meal, it was good but Burger King still rule in my household.

First of all, the layout of the restaurant is quite reminiscent of an American diner, but they've also made it a bit like a London tube station.
The issue with this is that the whole restaurant is like one massive echo-chamber and despite there being very few diners when myself and my partner ate here, it sounded like it was jam-packed; you could hear everyone's conversations echoing around the restaurant despite how quiet people were trying to be.
This wasn't great when ordering or having your order called either as everyone has to borderline shout at each other to be heard.

Because of this our order ended up wrong, as despite ordering a bacon-cheese hotdog and "the same again", we got 1 bacon-cheese dog and one bacon dog without cheese.
I'm not faulting the staff here at all, as they were friendly enough for our brief interaction of ordering, but I honestly can't imagine how bad it could get when it's really busy.

As for the prices, yes, Five Guys is far more expensive than the McDonalds or even Burger King that are a minute away down the high-street.
Yes, the quality of the food was good and it arrived fairly fast, but the hotdogs were literally 2 mouthfuls for £7.15 and £7.65 a pop and although the fries were clearly fresh, the quantity you get for £4.95 (regular size) is lacking for the price. They were also really salty, even when compared to somewhere like McDonalds. Finally £3.85 for a drinks cup is not the worst, as you do get infinite refills. If you don't mind sharing with someone, like I did with my partner, you can cheat the system and get 1 cup to share and provided you get 4 full drinks (2 fills per person), it works out.

So, our total for 2 people was just under £30 and we really did not get a whole lot. For 4 people you're looking at over £60, especially if you each get your own drinks cup, which is expensive.
Yes, the idea is to make the most of their "free toppings" and basically take absolutely everything on each item you order, but when the prices are that steep to begin with, you kind of feel the need to take all of the toppings anyway, or you're paying the same for far less.

I might go back again to see how the burgers stack-up as they are around the same price as the hotdogs, but Five Guys is certainly not somewhere I'm going to regularly be dining at, or ordering from, even if the quality is decent.

Not eaten here before, we almost did McDonald's and are so glad we didn't.

I was a little shocked at the cost, £30+ for two adults and a child sharing chips so there was a mountain to climb to make me happy.

The staff were very polite and helpful, we ordered and then sat down, after a few minutes our order number was called out.

The experience starts immediately, opening the bag and getting burgers in foil set the scene. The burger was so tasty and fresh, not like the cardboard experience at other places. It reminded me of being back in America when I was a kid.

The food was fantastic, fresh loaded and tasty. The milk shake was real and delightful. The chips were plentiful and just right.

If I need a burger in the future we will hunt out this chain.

The experience was perfect.

I have wanted to try this place for sometime. I was disappointed the burger was unseasoned, tasteless dry and completely disappointed, the grilled mushrooms and onions were slippery and tasteless. The chip sizes were generous but I wish they had used some of the salt on the burgers as very salty. My daughter had the hot dog OK at least she managed to eat it. She tried the spiced chips which were nice but for me to much spice. We had a cup of drink between us as neither of us wanted a lot to drink, iced raspberry tea was the best part of the meal.
So for a burger(2patties) small salted fries, hot dog, medium spiced fries and soft drink it cost just under £25.
Needless to say I will not be hurrying back.

Food and service first class as usual, by far the best burgers around by a country mile. Yes they cost more than other burger change but the extra couple of quid really is worth it in my opinion. Extremely quiet in here today hence 2 stars award - one criticism I have, how about some padding or cushions on the benches, they're very uncomfortable after 5-10 minutes sitting down.

Ok so let's not beat around the bush ..Great flavoursome burgers , beautiful fries cooked in peanut oil with handsome portions..Great drink choice especially the milkshakes they taste so good. It really is the next step up from your average fast food restaurant.. clean place, helpful staff ....But the big negative and the elephant in the room is the PRICE , big money, overpriced for what it is ...If visiting as a family expect to pay , worth it ? Up to the individual
