Toolstation Cheltenham

Great service today from Kevin at Toolstation, Cheltenham who was cheerful, helpful and efficient even in the face of downright rudeness from a potential customer who objected to queuing. I wasn't quite sure of the exact product I needed but he took the time to help and we found just the thing . Top man and top place.

Have been going to toolstation at least 3-4 times a week recently to get things for a house renovation. The staff are always friendly and very efficient. I never have to wait very long to click and collect or when ordering in store.

This used to be a great place to get what you need. It’s gone downhill recently.
Bad points:
1. don’t use click and collect. It is no quicker. The staff are stretched and have recently been instructed not to serve customers when a delivery comes in…. Despite 5 working in store only one serving.
2. opening hours now closed at 1700
3. Beware if checking stock online and system states there is one left in stock. If one has gone missing, this is when you find out… Be prepared for it to not be there.

Good points:
1. Courteous and helpful staff
2. Easier to park than screwfix along the road
3. Reasonable prices

Bought a Dirty water pump in toolstation. Open the box to find it was filthy and covered in dirt. Wasted my morning through travelling around, was extremely unapologetic in store and nothing was done about it. Strongly suggest screwfix instead

Had it with the Cheltenham branch. I've had no notifications from them that my last five or six orders are ready for collection. They are always short staffed and short tempered. A few times they totally ignore you at the click and collect lane. Went in for my last order only to find they'd miss-picked one of my items so had to go back to the store. The bloke tried to argue with me that I got what I asked for as the description was the same. I had to prove that the ref. number was different as he was insistent that the ref number meant nothing, then despite the website saying they had two of what I actually wanted in stock he couldn't be bothered to go and get what I wanted and just refunded me. Ordered what I wanted from the Gloucester branch and went over there instead. No problems with them, just a pain to have to travel over there. Screwfix for me in future even if they are slightly more expensive as they are always polite and courteous

Wow how the mighty have fallen, this place is an utter joke now. :-(

Absolutely awful place to shop, this place used to be great until this year were certain staff members left.

Click and collect used to work really well here, place an order online and receive a text message within minutes to say your order was ready for collection. Drive to the store and collect your order from the click and collect queue no problem.

Nowadays you place an order online (click and collect) and you will be lucky to receive a text message at all, my last order wasn't acknowledged for over 7 hours and when I went to collect my order the next day they had given it to someone else and didn't have any more in stock.

I now use Screwfix which is a stones throw away from this store, more expensive but at least they know what they are doing and they have plenty of staff.

The Gloucester Toolstation branch is good but it's a pain to drive all the way over there and waste money on fuel and time stuck in traffic etc.

Lorraine was amazing in the restaurant tonight very cheerful and always on the move what a lady absolute breath of fresh air salt of the earth

New manager was fab today. Thought I'd need to wait hours for delivery but he sorted me out with alternative items.
