I'm all for supporting small, independent shops, and I understand that overheads might result in prices which are slightly higher than those available online. However, to charge (in some cases) in excess of 50% more than charged on their own online store is nothing short of outrageous. My advice to anyone considering shopping at this store is to do yourself and your bank account a favour: visit, by all means, then browse, make your choices and then take yourself off back home to make your purchases online.

Very poor custumer service. Despite having spent over £600 pounds (and they were more expensive than other stores, just happened to be nearby) they were almost completely unhelpful in replacing wrong bits that they themselves had supplied. Ironmongers are a commodity. There is therefore nothing unique in their business and no need to shop from such unfriendly people. Give your business to likely more deserving people in the trade!

Customer service not a strong point of the showroom manager. . Placed an order in writing by email and she refused to acknowledge that she had made a mistake and not seen it . I think her words were “ I am not doing this” and chose to be silent on the phone when I wanted to discuss with her if she had even seen my email. Not really very helpful.

I received a phone call from the shop owner a few hours after posting this review. ( a slightly different worded version)
She was polite and helpful and offered to get my order in a couple of days rather than the 10 day wait previously quote. I declined her kind offer as have made alternative arrangements now.
She asked me to temper my review and I have done.
Such a shame not to have had a better experience earlier. Could have been a very different outcome.

Extremely bad customer service I'd spent a lot of money with lots of door furniture as doing a refurb and was prepared to buy more but took the surples purchases back and they said they wouldn't give me any money back or a credit note...couldn't believe they were allowed to do that!! Won't be using again and have spent money elsewhere but a shame as its a local business and I like supporting local traders but not in this instance. Buy online it will save you a lot of money

I bought 4 handles. Went home and realised they don’t look right for the chest of drawers (too small). My husband brought them back 15 minutes later to be told the items were not refundable as they were the end of the line - something she never mentioned. She told him it is written on the receipt - the receipt which she folded in half and handed to me when I paid.
How was I to know that they weren’t refundable if she didn’t tell me?

Needed to order new locks really quickly. The customer service were great and delivered to us the next day at no extra charge. Super helpful service and great quality products.

AVOID BUYING IN THE SHOP. Huge price premium on items bought in the shop rather than from the website - one of my items was 57% more expensive in the shop. Unless you need some advice from staff in the shop, which is how they justify this dual price system, just shop online.
