Extremely rude and unhelpful asian gentlemen. Refused to accommodate an exchange of a product that hadn't even been opened, and only purchased an hour earlier. Last time I support my local hardware store.

- Would I recommend this shop to a friend? no!
- Would I come back to the shop? no way!
- Was the customer service good? haha No. I don't think the guy over there knows what customer service means

The shop assistant and/or owner didn't wan't to help at all. He was very uncooperative and looked that he had an attitude, which made him being super dude and made me feel uncomfortable.

I give just one star because that's the minimum I could give you. Good luck mate!

I went in asking for some screws to fix a table with. I had some pictures on my phone and also began to describe the size of the screws I wanted but was met with instant disdain and negativity as I did not have exact measurements or sizes....

I was in disbelief to be honest. I would have had a guess if the Asian gentlemen was willing to even the discuss the matter but he was well just ... rude and unhelpful.

"I can't go downstairs and bring up all the screws..."

So to conclude, screw you Goulds!

Just went in there to ask the people whether they had something I was after. I wasn't sure exactly what I needed so asked to see what they stocked. Found an item that might be of interest but I wasn't sure it was what I wanted. In order to remember the item should i want to come back and purchase it I took a photo of it. The shop owner then snatched the item from me and angrily said I was inevitably going on the internet to buy it. He said I wasn't supporting independent shops and was wasting his time. It was likely I would have returned to buy it once mulling it over but now I'll never go back and he gets a bad review. The exchange ended in us swearing at each other! If you want to survive in the internet world you need to make extra sure you provide superior customer service - this guy does the opposite.

Really useful local hardware store in Soho.
Sell most stuff including timber, paint and smaller sheet materials.
Plumbing parts and will mix Dulux paint for you.
Open until 2pm on Saturday which is excellent.
Yogi the manager in there is a really nice chap, very knowledgable and will help you get the stuff you need.
Not sure why some of the comments call the staff "rude" actually I have been in there and been witness to the fact some people have asked some incredibly stupid questions. Sometimes you will not get an answer at all quite understandably as you either need a qualified Electrician or a Gas safe technician to advise you.
Great shop highly recommended

Absolutely appalling customer service. One of our operatives bought a door lock but wanted to return it (unopened) as it was not required in the end. Not only did they refuse to issue a refund but insulted our operative by accusing him of not being a builder. Not sure what drew him to that conclusion and why that has anything todo with returning anything! I have informed our entire team never to buy from this supplier. I will also be sure to warn all others within in the trade never to use.

This is hands down the cleanest and most organised hardware shop I have ever been in. Not only that but the gentleman behind the counter went above and beyond to be helpful, to the point of even lending me a screwdriver, trusting me to return it even though he had never met me. To find this kentality in a huge city like London is so rare. So top points for keeping a neighbourhood mentality!

My first transactions here were in 1982 when the only thing lacking was nurse Gladys Emmanuel.

If you need general hardware; this authentic trading post, consistently doing its utmost to cope with Soho's fauna, awaits your polite custom.
