I lost the screws for a mid-century desk that has metal threaded inserts. The people working at this store let me know exactly what screws I needed, and though they didn't sell those, this was incredibly helpful and just the information I needed.

So we just tried to place a commercial purchase order for many thousands of specialty fixings,
We need old school brass, slotted and countersunk, together with the corresponding Brass sockets cups,
Were working on a Grade 2 listed building for restoration,
We have over 400 yards of Brazilian Mahogany panels and screens, stripped back, repaired and re-instated.
This would be a lot of fixings.

Conversation began after having called 4 times to get a reply,
as follows.
Sir can you please help me. We need traditional brass fixings.
The reply,
No were to busy. just one person.
I tried again,
Can I send you an order with all our materials for delivery.
The reply,
No delivery.... is that OK sir
My reply..
Errrrrrrrr not really.
Phone call ended....

Consequence's,

We take our custom else ware.

It's really hard to find a specific screw or bolt in London. Even if there are plenty of stores like Screwfix or BnQ , finding something specific will take you a lot of time.
I found this shop on Google maps and by the looks of it, it seemed like a tiny DIY store, but I still decided to give it a go.
The man was very nice and helpful , even all I needed was only 4 bolts and some sleeve nuts .
All reviews are mostly with one star and say that the shop assistant was rude , don't feels like they are legit .
Maybe there was a problems with the people posting these reviews or they just don't know how to communicate properly.

All you have to know about this amazing shop is that they do things their own way, and you have to accept the specific personalities, working methods and opening hours. Screwfix this ain’t!

I’ve been going to this shop for more than a decade and it is, without doubt, essential and worth treasuring. The knowledge and stock they hold is encyclopaedic. You can buy a 100 year old bolt for a Victorian door knocker that fits perfectly. Queues due to its niche popularity are commonplace.

My only advice is go prepared - they don’t suffer fools gladly. It helps to have a specific idea of what you’re looking for. If you’re rude or impatient they’ll be rude and impatient right back. If you’re friendly and patient, the service matches. Also, it’s an old fashioned bricks-and-mortar shop. Don’t call them, take the time to visit and chat over the counter.

Long live this wonderful shop. There aren’t many like this anymore.

I'm not sure if this place is still open? I've travelled into London twice recently to visit during publicised open hours and both times it has been shuttered and closed.
