I love this store. They offer organic, local produce, allow BYO bags, have a delicious prepared food sections and lots of vegan-friendly products as well as environmentally friendly home goods (cleaners, shampoos, etc). They are very responsive to customer feedback as well and are clearly dedicated to minimizing their environmental impact with continual improvements to their practices and products.

2018 UPDATE: They have added a bulk foods section in partnership with Unpack'd and allow you to fill your own bags / containers with dry foods, nuts, etc to avoid plastic packaging and overbuying.

Worst Smoothies in London Town!

£6.25 for a watery cup of almond milk with a lump of date in it. No consistency, no flavour, no trace of the banana, peanut butter or the 23g of protein powder. Yuk. Complained, and was told to ask for it differently next time. Definitely won’t be a next time. Went home and cried about it.

Loved the soup and hot food.
Great mixture of bits for the healthy eaters.
Got my supply of nuts, I need to remember to bring my jars/containers next time or Tupperware 😊

Staff behind the counters always seem quite friendly and cheerful.

There are lots of organic products here. There also have cooked salads and sweets. There is a pharmacy in the back, it is suitable for people with allergies.

I have been racially profiled across some of the Planet Organic stores (including this one). I only want to tell the truth and exercise my rights as a black person. If anybody has sympathy please confront the violator when you see them profiling us. It’s hurts us so much and leaves us with psychological scars and fears and nightmares. We are then made to feel like racial profiling is normal when we complain - which amounts to “racial gaslighting”. I implore all to read the 2019 review - “ Micro-aggressions: Clarification, Evidence, and Impact” which details the psychological impact this behaviour has on us”. One day I too will get equal treatment.

Bought a small sourdough loaf in here last week for £3, got home and the whole thing was mildewed inside. Annoyed didn't cut it - especially as cooked the ingredients ready for the bread.

Not sure what happened to Planet Organic, especially the one on Essex Road. Up until a few months ago they were always fully stocked, but more recently they seem to be running out of everything - empty freezers and fridges and products that they used to sell now gone.
The Turkish shop further down Essex road sells most but not all of their products, so I’m finding myself in there more often now.

Staff at all Planet Organics are super friendly!
Just wish management would get their stock issues sorted.
