Paynes have just installed extra solar panels and also done a service on the boiler. On time. Professional and clean working. Very confident with the service given.

Absolutely fantastic workmanship I’m disabled and engineer ireally knew what he was doing compare with some I’ve come across some different companies.He made sure there are no trip hazards and the area was safe for me to get around and also there was no mess left behind. He was punctual and the pipework is like a work of art, he explained how everything worked, I couldn’t have been happier at the end of the day this company really is worth using and this particular engineer made sure that every part of the job was done as it should be with no corners cut and no bad workmanship he was amiable going on with the work I did a fantastic job l, I’ve never seen pipework like it. What more could you ask for. A company that keeps in contact let you know what’s going on they got the product that I wanted, and I got an engineer that reminds me of the guys from days of old that take a real pride in their job. Any company would be lucky to have this guy, i’m just glad it was payne’s.

Engineer attended on time and serviced the boiler as requested. Very professional, knowledgeable and jovial!
Very happy with work that was done. Would recommend, have used Paynes for many years with no complaints.

originally booked a boiler service and leak repair for either 22nd or 23 (sorry can't remember which) between 13.00 and 17.00.
I called their offices after 1700 to be told an engineer attended but i can only assume because there were no lights they presumed no one was home they said a card was left and a photo taken of the front door.
I was home the whole time and they did not ring the door bell which would have sent my dog barking loudly nor did they leave a card.

I then rebooked the appointment for Friday 25 between 0800 and 1300.
I called the offices at 1330 to be advised the engineer was running late and would be with me by 1400.
I called again at 1430 and was told the engineer was on his way and yes he arrived about 10 minutes later.
I asked the engineer if he was here to do both the boiler service and leak repair and was told "no I'm only here to do the leak and I would need to call the office to book an engineer to do the service".

I am very upset at the level of service, in particular that at no point did anyone care to advise that only the leak would be sorted out.
After the engineer left I checked the pipe which was the source of the leak and one of repaired joints still has a small leak.

Subsequently I have sent an email to Paynes and they have not had the courtesy of replying

I will arrange for an alternative contractor who hopefully will be more reliable.

Checked solar PV system and confirmed there was a fault with the inverter. arranged for quotes to be sent to replace the defective inverter and upgrade the system to include storage batteries. Very knowledgeable

We used Paynes to install a solar panel system after being recommended by our plumber. However, I would not recommend them for this purpose due to the following reasons. We accepted a quote after initial home visit. Unfortunately incorrect information was given. We had numerous issues in arranging a convenient site visit prior to installation. Engineers subsequently turned up for this unannounced. The initial fitting date was cancelled by Paynes on the morning of the fitting. However the team of engineers and electrician who subsequently carried out the installation professionally and with the minimum fuss

Our boiler failed at the start of the second freeze of this winter. I rang and could not be more pleased with the help I received. The gentleman was extremely knowledgeable, asked me specific questions and quickly diagnosed the issue. He gave me clear instructions over the phone and 5 minutes and a new fuse later, my boiler is back up and running! I'm extremely grateful for the free help I was provided and, frankly, leaving a five-star review is the very least I can do. Thank you so much and I won't hesitate to call you when there's a more complicated problem to resolve.

Excellent response to a boiler failure. Thoughtful engineer, articulated what the reasons might be, what he had done and why. This required a return through no fault of the engineer two days later and he appeared within two hours, fixing the problem all during the cold/snow patch we have just had.
