I recently had a new Worcester Bosch installed which I’m very pleased with. From the moment Stuart came to quote for the job I knew Pipeworks Heating were the ones to choose. Stuart spent over an hour on the quote making sure he had all the information, discussing options and explaining how they’d tackle the install. He was patient, clear and concise with his information.

I first contacted Pipeworks Heating Ltd back in 2006 and I have continued to use their excellent service ever since. They have installed central heating systems, bathroom suites and performed annual gas safety checks. Their service is what can only be described as exceptional! We’ve been meaning to do this review for absolutely ages…..

We first came across Pipeworks in August 2008. At the time, we had a very old, very inefficient and almost obsolete system boiler and a water storage cylinder, and our annual service was being done by British Gas.

We realised that the time had come for help for us to upgrade to more efficient technology. So we decided to get quotes for an instantaneous water (combination) boiler.

The quotes we obtained were from two large national companies including British Gas and a local family run business (called Pipeworks Heating).

Pipeworks actually had an advantage over the other two - because at the time we were getting a bit fed up of getting different engineers from British Gas to do the annual service (with different abilities and different attitudes - from fairly helpful to downright awkward) and having to go through their tedious call centre system speaking to an “anonymous” person on a “one-off” basis whenever we had a requirement.

The quote from Pipeworks was very reasonable and it was based on a Worcester Bosch boiler. (At the time, “Which” magazine rated Worcester Bosch boilers as the very best of all the central heating boilers available). In addition, when Stuart Kelsall came along to take a look at our requirements (and subsequently provide a detailed written quote a day or so after his visit), he was professional, courteous, friendly, non-pushy and extremely patient in explaining the options available to us. And most importantly, he was one of the owners rather than only an employee (who might be “here today and gone tomorrow”). Also, he would be involved in the actual installation (as opposed to the two large national companies who sent their relatively uninformed and non-technical sales people along. They were to provide the quote - but it was obvious that they would never be seen again). So for a combination of reasons, we decided to give our business to Pipeworks and we eventually opted for a Worcester Bosch greenstar 30CDI boiler (which has operated almost flawlessly to the present day). Our decision has been totally vindicated!

Over the last 12 years, Stu and Steve, and their team, have carried out the annual service as well as an assortment of other plumbing related jobs that we have required from time to time (including re-routing the gas pipes when we had our gas meter moved to a different location because of a kitchen modernisation project and also a replacement soil pipe when we had our driveway replaced).

In addition, we have been so delighted with the service provided by Pipeworks that on our recommendation, another family member has had a boiler installed by them - and also benefits from the annual service on an ongoing basis.

On the (very rare) occasions when there has been a minor issue with either of the two boilers that our families have been benefiting from, Stu and Steve have always arranged a prompt visit to ensure that we would not be without heat or hot water. In addition, they are always available over the phone to provide any advice or information when needed.

We look forward to continuing our relationship, and we have no hesitation in recommending Pipeworks to anybody looking to ensure that their heating system provides them with heating and hot water at minimum cost and nil hassle.

After a quick visit to see the work that was needed l was e-mailed a quote that detailed all that would be done. Including boiler brand and piping specs, start date, removal of all old radiators,tanks etc and the cost. Very reasonable too, especially for the excellent quality of the work carried out.
Only met Steve from the team. Professional, knowledgable and delivered exactly what he said he would. Nice bloke too.

After posting on a public forum on behalf of an elderly neighbour who's boiler had stopped working, Steve was out at the property within 15 minutes and fixed the problem within half hour. Really fast response and nothing but professionalism and politeness. To see the relief on my neighbours face when Steve got the radiators working was priceless. Can't thank him enough and can't recommend him enough.
