This trail is partially a disused train track, it is very good under foot and is used by walkers and cyclists alike. We spotted some brown trout basking in the sunlit Meon river. This is a very back to nature kind of place. Take the kids for a long stroll to tire them out, parking for this trail is Wickham Old Station

Love it...

A lovely walk and cycle path, especially when dry.

I recommend waterproof boots or wellies when there has been a considerable amount of rain as the path near the car park gets waterlogged and further up the path turns into a mini stream with run off water. But a little rain never harmed anyone as they say!

A leisurely family cycle ride is best left for drier months, unless the dirt doesn't put you off, in which case crack on with your 29er mountain bike Haha!

It's a dog friendly trial but it's worth pointing out there is access to roads and private gardens, plus it's a popular path for other dog walkers - so maybe best left for dogs that respond when off lead and are friendly with other dogs.

The neon valley trail is a disused railway line, and is now turned into a trail for walking and cycling. You can get to it by entering the old station car park in the lovely quaint old town of Wickham near Fareham in Hampshire which is free to use and there is a Mer electric chargeing point for those like me who drives an electric vehicle. The Neon river runs along this walk lower down in the woodland. There is a weir which has been constructed for kids and dogs to splash around in which is shallow and a seating area for parents/dog owners can sit and watch. Our two Jack Russell's loved playing in the water. There are several information boards on the trail explaining the history of the old railway line.you can use this trail in both directions.

We only walked from the Rookesbury camp site into Wickham. Took about 50 minutes. Undulating walk, slightly more uphill coming back. Nice and shady on what was a very hot day. Pleasant enough, lovely trout stream with some sizeable specimens! As a dog owner who always picks up after his dog, more poo bins please!

A lovely walk North from the old railway station (now gone, but you can still make out the platforms). They've done a lot of work on the path and mud is now kept to a minimum. Take care with horses and cyclists who also use the route.

Outstanding place of natural beauty. Plenty of scope along the bridal way to enjoy a walk or cycle ride. Parking is free bit it does fill up quickly at the weekend.

This has been my favourite walk right through covid. Its stunning colours and of course the stream for the pooch. Flat so ideal for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Walk as far or as little through this 10 mile wonder.

A great off road ride, but after rain can be a little muddy in places. Don't let that stop you though. Walkers, runners, horse riders and cyclists are all catered for.
A Hampshire fallen twig was used to shift mud off the mudguards....
