Fab route for walkers, runners and cyclists. We parked at West Grinstead Station.

My Dad was a train driver for nearly 50 years and what he doesn't know about trains and routes isn't worth knowing! He used to work this line when it was running and we've met people there who we've talked to and turns out he's worked with their relatives! Alot of history there but also a great place to go for nature lovers. Just sit on one of the benches and immerse yourself with the sounds also watch out for gorgeous dragonflies at this time of year by the pond. There is a railway carriage that is sometimes opened by volunteers and lots of bits of the original station including the sidings track just in the woods. We picnic here quite often 🦋🐞🐝🌻🌺

Lovely place to walk. Through open countryside and the opportunity to go off track into the woods. Nice and flat so no hills to contend with. Very safe as there are plenty of cyclists and dog walkers. Good parking.

Lovely for a walk, run, or cycle. There is a small carpark on the lane between The Orchard Pub and Kennell Lane (No charge). The old railway track has been concreted over, at least from the part I walked down, (West Grinstead Station to Partridge Green) so I don't think you will need wellies when it rains - though we did visit on a sunny day. There are several different trails that branch off the main route if you fancy a hike across some of the more rugged public footpaths.

If you want to break up the route a little, you can start at West Grinstead Station and walk down to Partridge Green, then on the return journey back try walking up the B2135, (Church Road, Jolesfield, Needs Hill) you will see a few different paths you can take to cut across back onto the main route, but if you continue up to Needs Hill, you will be able to join the Downslink Bridleway back at the high bridge that takes you over the main road. Though be careful, as when walking up the B2135, as the pathway ends where the road changes from Jolesfield into Needs Hill.

A lovely long walk with various public footpaths (left and right) taking you to mystical-looking forests and a ton of things waiting for you to explore.

A great 37 Mile or 59km old railway route which stretches from St Martha's Hill to Shoreham-by-Sea linking the North Downs and South Downs.

I regularly run between West Grinstead and Slinfold section all year round and have ran 95% of the entire route. 85% of the link is completely off road, while the others are sections of road or road crossing or connecting paved paths. Does get very muddy in the winter, but it very well maintained in the summer. There are plenty of car parks or parking spots along the route and is well connected to other links such as train station and cycle routes!
