Lovely location for a short gentle walk or a longer walk for the more energetic. We walked from the Visitor Centre at Hayfield to Birch Vale, which took about 25 mins. It's a very level path and suitable for wheelchairs, mobility cycles and bicycles. We stopped at one of the many benches along the route to have our packed lunch. Lovely views along the route.

Great place for a loop of Jacobs ladder on your mtb, walkers are actually very kind and considerate when you pass.
The town and surrounding area is just stunning to see, a national treasure.

It's a nice little walk from Hayfield to Newmills, you get a view of the overflow reservoir and that's about it. The course deviates a couple of times to cross a road etc at which there is a cafe' and nearing the end you can divert to the Torrs. A bit like the Middlewood way Sett Valley Trail follows a disused railway line so it's fairly flat with greenery on each side. We did see a mobility scooter user on the trail. At Newmills we had time to take in the Millennium Walkway before getting the bus back to Marple.

Lovely walk. Old railway line with plenty of character. A relatively short distance and an easy walk.

It's a pleasant short walk on flat, maintained paths. Sett Valley cafe half way along is excellent. In late April Bluebell woods is stunning.

Very enjoyable bike ride. Good surface and variations in slope. Many walkers exercising with their dogs. Millennium Walk and surrounding viaducts, weirs, stone cliff faces and historic mill buildings make the journey interesting.

Wonderful flat trail, about 2.5 miles, parking, cafe in the middle of the trail and at either side of the trail is picturesque Hayfield and New Mills. Ideal for gig walkers, or a leisurely bike ride.
