A wonderful atmosphere pervades this place. Well worth a visit for any prehistorian, photographer or artist. I've added my own impression here.

Small stone circle on top of a hill. Open to the elements so wrap up warm and wear sensible footwear as it can be muddy in places.
Dogs allowed but must be kept on a lead due to livestock safety.
Small parking area at the end of the track, track can be a bit rough in places so drive carefully if you don't have a lot of ground clearance.

This is the actual best thing in Shropshire. We're very privileged to have this remarkable Bronze Age doleritic circle at hand. Everyone should get out there and have a dose of the magic, that'll put you right for a bit.

This is my favourite stone circle for a long distance in any direction. Definitely one of the best prehistoric sites of this part of the country! The circle itself is really quite striking, but the surrounds too (with excellent views all around, and some paths to numerous other, worthwhile sites) are also beautiful. On the day that I visited this stone circle, I'd planned out a little history road trip of 8 different sites throughout this part of the country - I visited this one first, and even though the whole trip was wonderful, this remained the best experience of the day by far.

Another wonderful visit to this 3000 year old monument. Having visited stone circles all over the UK and Europe this rough circle of 15 stones is still a favourite.
The setting is perfect with stunning views and with Stapeley Hill not only the source of the stones but also playing the part of a recumbent figure overlooking the monument which is an important feature in many prehistoric sites.
The site is easily accessible and has a small parking area.

When we lived in Shropshire we would often visit this lovely little circle of standing stones whatever the time of year. We were back in the Shire for a few days recently so had to revisit. It is 1 of only 2 stone circles in Shropshire, both of which are within walking distance of each other. It sits on exposed hillside and gives great views of the surrounding countryside

Very atmospheric. The lane leading to the stones has a lot of deep pot holes and the walk slightly up hill through the sheep's grazing land is a bit bumpy, but the view is spectacular. You can see why they would build a stone circle here.

A fantastic place to go to watch the sunset!

The stones themselves are great to see as they are such an important insight into ancient Britain.
