This is a wonderful historic place, the setting is so quiet and peaceful and the views of the fields surrounding are lovely. It is so clean and tidy and a good fair price to enter here. At some points you are able to get up close to the ruins , the rocks and stones used in constructing this wonderful building. There are benches around this place so you can sit and relax, It takes you back to a different time than we know today and makes you think about how life really was then. There is still some new discoveries here which i never knew about and they are still working of different parts of this site including having just unearthed a row of shops which i found wonderful to see. There is also a underground shrine that looks lovely but you can't go down there just can look from the top. Really enjoyed this visit and made a great day out in St Albans.

Watching theatre here is a really beautiful experience. Parking is a five minute walk away and there are toilets in the car park too.
We chose to sit in the arena to watch our show but you can also sit around the auditorium. I’m so glad I went and will definitely be returning. How lucky are we to have a real Roman theatre here?!

A much underrated attraction! Such a shame that the theatre is not advertised more. It's well worth a visit to understand the prominence of the city in Roman times. Also a very pleasant open air venue for the current theatre festival with a variety of excellent performances.

Attended an outdoor performance by the OVO theatre group (based in St Albans) during a summer evening. The setting at the Roman Theatre of the Verulamium was simply beautiful, the play was fantastic and we were blessed with good weather. Check out their website ovo.org.uk for future performance.

Not to be missed if you are interested in roman stuff and you are visiting the Verulamium Museum, it’s just across the road. There’s an admission fee (£3)

Ovo production of A Christmas Carol at the Roman Theatre of Verulamium. Incredible performance made more atmospheric by the setting and the snow and cold. Well worth attending one of the many productions there - and ovo specifically seem to go from strength to strength

Would have liked to attend the Roman theatre to watch a show or with a guide who could talk us through a bit about the history of the place. It is surrounded by luscious green fields and breathtaking views from the path at the top.

Would definitely benefit from visiting with a guide as I probably didn't get to understand enough about the history of this place. There are information boards and other signposts so it's not a wasted trip anyway!
