Went there today, not a bad cycle. Great place to have a proper look around the old gunpowder mill,so peaceful aswell. With pasty in hand I had a field day and was treated to a damsel fly photoshoot by one of the many little streams. A happy place, decaying the old building with an actual history/factual story behind it. Not sure on parking, but u can at least drive past (but it's hidden by trees and bushes) . I always take my headphones off for a bit to experience the peace/or noises if any(natural, like streams, insects, any animals)

Worth a look, even if it's for ten minutes...you'll end up being there for longer.

Hope I haven't put too many photos up,don't want to spoil it,but like with everything...u have to be there to appreciate it.

Plus side...nice day and weather for it,and only saw six people for the two hours I was there.

Ps. Take food/drink with u,as of yet I only know of a few pubs along the way and an offy. AND IT'S FREE TO VISIT...for now

May go again...at night time

Edit:second trip,I went to the parts I hadn't been, there are picnic tables, some more parts to the mill, tons of frogs at this time of year. Parking to the far end by the other entrance, two/three spaces, two hour stay only....free though. My kid enjoyed it and we even saw a snake swimming up the stream 😂👍

Really cool little place! Not a massively long walk but you can turn it into a long walk if you plan a route!

Great place for a walk for an hour or two. Limited parking but worth the effort as it has a lot of history

A great place for a stroll for a couple of hours and full of history. Parking is very limited (4 places), so be prepared to have to park in the village and walk.
A cross country walk connects the Gunpowder Mills to St. Martha's church, which may offer better parking facilities.

Ruined gunpowder mill that has been reclaimed by nature, nice walk through the old site, some of the old concrete structures remain along with various other bits and pieces scattered round the site, there are information boards here and there to explain what the mill used to be like, parking very limited so you may have to park on the surrounding roads and walk down. Wear proper footwear as the ground can be muddy and uneven in places. Overall a good couple of hours to be had or just a nice place for a sit down and picnic if the weather is good

Fantastic fun walk for all the family with great signage to tell you what happened here 150 years ago. Wellies a must and limited parking. Great few hours in the Surrey countryside.

Worth a visit, some parts of the historical mill are still standing. Great for dog walking although prepare to get muddy during the wet months!!! Nice little stream for kids to paddle in with wellies. There's a few picnic tables too.
