Peden's Cove

A great trail walk! Its only a 2 mile walk round trip from the carpark at failford inn. Very easy walk, maybe one hour if you like to stop to take photos as much as i do!. Walk it enjoy it 😁👍

Awesome walk with stunning views

Lovely walk along the river Ayr gorge from failford to pedens cove and handy info board to tell you a bit of the history surrounding it.

If you like local history in Ayrshire then you'll love this beautiful walk to Peden's Cove...park at The Failford Inn and you'll find the trail over the bridge. It a lovely 2 mile walk along the river, a mile each way. Highly recommend.

Not a lot of parking spaces. Great walk. Atmospheric, beautiful scenery and a bit of history. Sign boards helped explain what is around and about. Dog loved it too.

Well worth a visit if your in the area, or like us drove 150 mile round trip to walk 2 miles 🤣

This dramatic viewpoint at the top of sandstone stairs cut into the side of the River Ayr gorge is quite stunning to see, and a lovely end to a great woodland walking route.
It is named after Covenanter minister, Alexander 'Sandy' Peden who is said to have preached from here to his followers on the other side of the River Ayr.
He was one of over 300 church ministers forced to flee after King Charles the 2nd was restored to the throne.
The walk to this place is steep in places with wide steep stairs and would be muddy after some rain, so not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

Amazing walk was so peaceful and relaxing we will definitely go next time soon with family
