Our grandchildren had a great time here. Theres’s lots to see and do. There’s plenty of parking nearby.

A brilliant place. So much fascinating stuff in there. Amazing exhibits. We spent an absorbing couple of hours in the museum and need to go back again as there is so much to take in. We also visited the garden which was a beautiful haven of peace. Top place and very highly recommended!

It's very evident that the staff genuinely care about the history. There's an old little street with old shop fronts and a pub you can enter, a fabric shop, a mini cinema, the trench upstairs. You really are drawn into all these little worlds through time. The gardens are lovely as well.

I used to visit here quite often as a child in the 1970's. This visit was my first since then for 'Ghost Walk' on Halloween. I can't wait to go back to see all the refurbishments that happened in the 2000's. However the Ghost Walk was a disappointment. We were shown around the museum for just under an hour in the dark, we were offered torches. We were in a group of perhaps 25 people. We were told alleged ghost sightings in the museum over the years and the local Leicester area by a lovely lady. Unfortunately her stories didn't flow or really keep your interest. Were were followed around by someone in fancy dress holding a sickle, I think that was to add some drama into the evening. After the tour of some of the museum we were taken outside and around Newarke houses for some more ghost stories/alleged ghost sightings. A bit of history was interesting but the ghost story but was naff.

Great little museum, with lots of interactive aspects for kids of all ages. The tiger who came to tea exhibition was really interesting for us as well as fun for the kids. Awesome, free place to visit.

What an unexpected surprise! I visited this museum for no other reason than my friend wanted to see "the big chair" and was amazed at the range of displays and the size of the museum. The chap on the welcome desk was very friendly and helpful as were the other members of staff we spoke to. Very well presented information on a range of topics and historical time periods and best of all, free entry! Out of all of the museums available, it isn't one that I initially would have thought to visit but I'm glad I did!

I visited this museum as I kept walking past it most days and always wondered what it was like inside. Turns out that it is a wonderful little place that explains a lot about the culture and industry of the city. Upstairs is dedicated to the regiment of Leicestershire and explains a lot about them. I also saw the temporary display about the Blitz of Leicester, which was my second favourite part of the museum.

The garden is worth visiting as it is so relaxing to sit outside with all of the nature. As someone who enjoys photographing plants and animals, I made sure to take a look.

Overall, this museum is a fun few hours for either the locals or visiters to the city.

One of the best museums I have been to.
Went alone and the staff is super welcoming and kind, you can tell they have passion for the history and the museum which is great to see.
The galleries are great and I am surprise its free entry so enjoy while you can honestly.
