My family and I and a group of friends all stayed at The Highland Club when my son was running in The Loch Ness Marathon last year. It was an ideal base for the race and the sauna, steam room and swimming pool facilities were greatly appreciated before and after the event.

We booked through Highland Club Direct and found the whole process very easy and painless. Their excellent web site offered a huge range of apartments available at the Highland Club and was very easy to navigate around. We particularly enjoyed the interactive map of the Monastery which helped give us a really good feel for the various buildings, apartments and facilities available.

We ended up selecting Talisker and Glenlivet, two apartments close together comfortably sleeping 6 people each. The self catering facilities were excellent and we were delighted with both apartments, They were beautifully appointed apartments in the Old School of the Monastery. The welcome pack provided was particularly appreciated as we arrived late after driving up from Edinburgh.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Highland Club Direct as a direct booking site for the apartments at the Highland Club and would especially recommend the apartments Talisker and Glenlivet.

Whilst the swimming pool was closed for rebuilding after a fire, and the gym was being refurbished (opened on our last day) this is a fantastic place to stay in a beautiful location on the banks of Loch Ness. No expense has been spared at furnishing the holiday lets to a great standard with everything considered. The renovation to the historic elements of the building have struck a balance between modernisation and keeping the ecclesiastical features (we stayed in the abbey church). The local amenities are suitable for everything you would need day to day. A great base to visit the Highlands, attractions, and more importantly the distilleries!

Romantic and charming. You rent your own apartment so you can make it your home away from home. Amazing to be in a converted fort and monastery. It's quiet and peaceful and has a wonderful balance of modern and historical.

The only regret that my family has is not being able to stay longer. We stayed in The Chapter House in the abbey. It was perfect for my family of 5. Charles met us at the front door and toured us through the abbey before showing us our apartment. His kindness and sharp wit made such a great first impression. The pool, outdoor chess board and ping pong table were great perks (especially for our 9 yr old!) but it was the picturesque location and feeling of historical significance that we really admired. Next time we visit Scotland, it will be our home base for our entire stay.

Talisker apartment was exceptional, tasteful decor and extremely comfortable. The swimming pool and wellness facilities were complimentary and well received after a busy day exploring the area. We experienced many great days out from the Harry Potter train to a Whiskey tour at Dalwhinnie distillery. An exceptional holiday was had by all the family. We will return soon. Thank you to Highland Club Direct and the team for all their assistance during our stay. The only negative thing is that we didn't see the Loch Ness monster!
