Visited here during the Michael as event. The younger staff were welcoming and approachable, however they had to direct me to a very moody middle aged superior member of staff.
Waited patiently while she delivered drinks at the bar for her focus. We were told if you can find a table we are serving food. This was said in a hostile manner, in complete contrast to the previous helpful staff.
Didn't feel as though we were welcome so left immediately as I didn't feel the venue deserved our money in the till. We found a different pub that was amazing and very welcoming a mile away which was a great find

This was our first visit to Bishop's Castle and had had the Boars Head recommended. I have to say that were weren't disappointed at all! This is a lovely is pub. Lots of character and the staff were so helpful. The food was amazing! Both our meals were excellent. You will not come out hungry and their prices were quite reasonable too. Highly recommended and we will certainly be coming back.

Visit with my son for a short walking holiday. Didn't stay here but ate 2 nights in a row. The welcome from Stuart was very friendly - just like a traditional Landlord who really made you feel at home. Food was superb - & my son is VERY demanding. He can't wait to go back.

Wonderful location for a large famy get together. The Boars head pub and attached 'curly tail' accommodations are spotlessly clean and welcoming. The pub has a great feel to it with plenty of areas to sit together or find a quiet spot if wanted. Recommend whole heartedly, Bishops Castle is a sleepy little town right in the heart of beautiful countryside perfect for walks and strolls around chocolate box villages.

Great holiday spot for a large gathering. We went for a stag but would be good for any event really.

We were outside an hour ago. All ways of entry were locked. However there were people inside enjoying the hospitality. We have visited before and fpind it really nice. But now no visable means of entry. Disappointing.

Note it is a holiday letting rather than a pub open to the public . Absolutely fabulous place 23 of us spent the week here and enjoyed the comfortable warm clean characterful venue and amazing array of things to do including hot tub and sauna . Its literally like you have been given a pub to run for the week and a unique experience we are keen to do again - they even arrange draght beers etc so it feels like a proper pub and can provide a chef if needed. Village itself stunning and area very good for walking .100% happy.

Pub is nice, has everything you need, rooms are tidy and comfy but when we arrived we had to clean the oven because it was disgusting, the pots and pans, the dish washer, etc. Considering they didn't let us in early because they were "cleaning" they didn't do a very good job. Also they have a 50 inch TV but don't leave you with the Sky pin code so you cant watch anything that isn't PG, kind of disappointing if you want to watch a movie in the evening.
