AVOID- If you are looking to stay in a lovely cottage just around the corner from my favourite Chinese and pubs I visit regularly this IS a lovely location. HOWEVER!!! be prepared to be ROBBED. The memory of my lovely weekend stay has unfortunately been STAINED by the wrongful theft of my deposit, which has increased the total cost of my stay to an EXTORTIONATE amount. I would love to have come back and spent much MORE MONEY on future trips. It’s a shame some property owners are clearly very UNTRUSTWORTHY it really does ruin it for EVERYBODY!!!!

From the moment I spoke to Heather who manages this beautiful property I just knew I was going to have an amazing stay - so amazing that I ended up asking to stay an extra night because I didn't want to go home!!
The cottage is not only beautifully located in the fabulous village of Belper, with fantastic bus routes into the Peaks, but it is also beautifully appointed and beautifully presented, with everything you could possibly want for a perfect stay, whether that be for 3 nights as I had or much longer - which I will certainly be booking next time! It is immaculate inside and out, cosy, fabulously and authentically 18th century with original details retained but with all the modern touches we've come to expect in the 21st century - including Netflix etc on the TV for lazy evenings after a hard day of walking! - and the garden is gorgeous, with a table and chairs for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening sunshine, and on this occasion it was a delicious bottle of red that Heather had left for me with some other goodies to make my stay even more wonderful ♥
I can honestly say that on all my travels, here in the UK and overseas, I have never stayed in more perfect self-catering accommodation.

Myself and my partner have stayed at Jedidiah Cottage twice now and will continue to visit whenever we can for as long as we can. Heather, the Property Manager could not be anymore professional, welcoming and friendly. Her communication with you as a guest is very informative and just what you require when booking a holiday, least of all “unwelcoming”. Heather is just exactly what you need in a host and more; she goes above and beyond to make the cottage as clean, cosy and warm for your welcome and even adds little touches such as welcoming packs and this time, Easter Eggs! It saddens us to read such false reviews - if you book this cottage, not only will you see how untrue and malicious these 1* reviews are, but you will have the pleasure of meeting the lovely Heather and staying in the beautiful cottage.
The cottage itself cannot be faulted at all; it’s clean, well equipped, perfectly located, spacious, cosy - we love it! We love it so much that we came back, and have plans to return at our earliest convenience. The garden is beautiful, perfect for enjoying some drinks outside, or like us, enjoying a game of badminton! The cottage is situated in the heart of Belper, which has many lovely bars and restaurants and cafes and even independent shops! We recommend the Devonshire and Nourish 44.
We cannot wait to return soon for a lovely relaxing break and to see Heather again.

Wonderful, beautifully kept cottage in a brilliant location. Super helpful property manager, who really goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is comfortable. Already looking forward to our next visit!

We were visiting the area because of a family wedding. The cottage is beautiful, we were pleasantly pleased. The space was perfect and surprisingly large upstairs which was great. We would definitely recommend and plan to visit again to explore the local area more.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Belper. The property was stylish and spotless, with great facilities. Arriving to a kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits, milk and butter was lovely.
Heather, the property manager, couldn’t have been more helpful from the moment we booked the cottage to following our check out.
The location of the cottage is great; within short walking distance of the main high street and close to the river gardens. We were always able to find parking on the road of the property. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Our stay at Jedediah Cottage was so special. The cottage was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was spectacular, especially the rain shower! The neighbors were all very friendly, so were their curious cats who wondered into our garden to check us out. Heather, the property manager was super nice, very welcoming and checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We will be back and I definitely recommend this property to anyone considering booking it!!!

We had such a wonderful time at Jedediah Cottage. The place was spotless and cosy, and really close to local shops and a train station. Parking was really easy to find and the neighbourhood itself was really welcoming. Heather, the property manager, was so lovely and made the booking and staying experience smooth and easy. Cannot think of even one fault. Would definitely recommend over a hotel any day! Will be coming back soon.
