Acorn Retreat is an excellent home from home, a perfect place to get away from it all and relax. The property owners, Linda and George have thought of all the little things you need when you are self catering, even going the extra mile to find out when the fish and chip shops closes when you arrive later than hopes on a Friday evening. A perfect base to explore the delights that Devon has to offer.

We spent a wonderful, peaceful week at Acorn Retreat. The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped and Linda and George go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. Off the beaten track with wildlife outside your door but within easy access of the coast and great walks, it's a real gem.

Couldn't meet nicer people. Accommodation was nice, everything we needed, we had a great relaxing time, saw the deer in the grounds, sat by the river and chilled. Need to update photos of gardens . Thank you Linda and George.

A real gem! Linda and George are excellent hosts; the cottage has everything you could need - and more - and is in the most beautiful place. Exploring the grounds was very special - the lakes, ponds, and the busy river... We enjoyed our evening G&T on the boarded terrace, or the higher bench, in complete peace. The bird life is fantastic; the feeders beside the cottage were in constant use, and George's Hamburg chickens/pheasants are not only stunning to look at but also produce unbelievably delicious eggs! This was our first Covid outing and we felt completely safe. Linda explained all the measures she takes, knew the cafes and pubs which were reliable and safe, and where the food is good. Finally, as a base for exploring Exmoor this is an ideal spot. We had a wonderful week. Thank you, Linda and George.

This place is peaceful and tranquil,the apartment has everything you could need or want and the owners are lovely and so helpful they will do anything they can to help you have a wonderful time. We loved our week there.

Such a amazing place and the owners are truly amazing , can't do enough for you ❤ You really can be at 1 with nature . The walks around the lakes are breath taking 😍🥰
