Hi. Ian the Geek (complementary) Just fitted new modified charging unit in my caravan control panel ESM 2000 while I waited. The unit indicated that it was unserviceable. But Ian has repaired many. Installed in caravan and works perfectly. Every company needs a IAN. Thank you so much for your professionalism and expertise. Already purchased caravan few years ago. Will be back hopefully for a trade in. Thank YOU.
Kindest Regards
Godfrey

Bought my caravan from them 2 years ago, and back for a service. Really friendly and helpful team, and when your caravan has been serviced it gets washed too! They sell new and used static and tourers, tourers usually have awnings and other bits in them in the sale price if left in them when they've been traded in,unlike some dealers who remove and strip all this sort of things out and sell them separately, highly recommended.

We found ourselves in a bit of a pickle while touring. McDonnell's don't have a spares shop as such but they did have the part in their repair workshop and were able to sell us the part for our water supply. Saved our holiday. Very lovely staff and very obliging.

First night away found some of the bedding soaked in the bottom locker. Thought the leak probably from the kitchen tap, but not sure. Tried all the local mobile repairers, but all too busy to help unfortunately. Then drove up the road to the nearest 'dealer'. The miserable old git at John Wicks couldnt have been much more unhelpful had he tried! More dodgy secondhand car dealer than caravan dealer! So tried tackling the job myself and managed to get the tap out (using just a multi tool and a bike spanner)! After another Google search, I found another local dealer that I had missed first time, probably because it had the appearance of predominantly being about statics. McDonnell's wasn't far, so drove there and walked into reception, tap and pipe in hand. Again, as I think it's more geared up for statics, the receptionist called Ian from the workshop. What a contrast, this guy couldn't have been MORE helpful. We went in the stores and workshop and although the Flexi tails connected to my tap are no longer available that long, he cut, prepared and fixed some plastic tube to some shorter tails and explain how to easily test to see if this was enough to cure the leak without having to completely refit it. Unfortunately it didn't work, but I rang him as he said and after talking it through we decided it must be the internal plastic cartridge from the tap which he said he had one in stock. When I went back, he offered to swap the cartridge for me, which turned out to be quite a fiddly job and one which I definitely couldn't have managed with the limited tools that I had. With what I'd learned I managed to reinstall and put everything back together with no leaks. And I was only charged for the new components, no labour charge and it didn't even cost me the price of a new tap. Would have been a very different holiday without Ian's help. THANKS VERY MUCH MCDONNELL CARAVANS and in particular IAN.

We were away on our 1st ever caravaning Holiday when we noticed we had no water pressure. Rang McDonnell's and they got Ian to call us and he actually came out to us and diagnosed the fault after 5,mins and it did not need a new pump as we all thought.problem fixed and clean and tidy workmanship all done within 2hours of phone call. Can highly recommend to anybody.

We have an old touring caravan which the water heater was completely broken. According to our insurance company saying the floor had got wet it was a right off offering us pittance. Replacements are no longer available. We took it to McDonnells where we were told they could mend it. Not only was the heater repaired but a broken shower head and tap was spotted and fixed. The engineer we spoke to was first class explaining every thing. When we picked it up it had also been cleaned....all at a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended.

Mc Donnels are a pleasure to do business with. Why did we travel four and a half hours to buy a caravan from McDonnels this week? The initial answer is they had the caravan we wanted, an Elddis Xplore 452, when 2nd hand caravans are in short supply! Having now picked up the caravan I can add so many good reasons to use them even if it does involve you in a a long journey. The caravan was meticulously inspected before being handed over to us and every minor fault was put right. This meant there are no little niggles for us to put right, not to mention the value of all the parts and labour. Incidentally, the caravan was well priced even before all the work they put into it. The caravan came fully serviced and included a water ingress report and six months warrranty. Ian the service engineer spent well over an hour with us to give us a full tour of every detail and ensure we knew what do do when we left them. Every part of their business approach is to ensure the customer goes away satisfied - which we are!. By the way if you do travel to buy a caravan from them the Camping and Caravanning site at Sandringham is nearby and a beautiful site. So thank you Dave and Ian and I wish McDonnells well deserved success for the rest of 2021. Paul and Simone (Portsmouth)
