First Visit to this friendly 3 Lake facility .
Paid my fee £8 for 1 rod per day coarse fishing . Decided to fish Dam Wall to Island . Had to improvise bank stick as not able to insert as Dam wall prevents this . Small pod probably better . However this will cost you extra 2 quid as you will be deemed Carp fishing .
So I fished pellet 12mm Red Robin on 4inch QM1 size 10 hook to 12lb .
Bites vary from snag snatch to blinding runs . First catch 3lb Bream caught on 12 mm Halibut pellet . Went bit slow after connecting into a double decker bus of a Carp . Over excitement caused me to pull rig ( barbless ) out of Carp . Tried to hard to get to bank . Changed from size 12 to size 10. Lost no more . Also assisted other local angler who just couldn't catch nothing bigger than around 6lb .
He landed a PB of 12lb . Obviously delighted . Gracious in thanks going home. See some of Carp and Bream caught .
I did not use bait alarm . Not needed .
More recently my mate has caught Carp 26.8oz and 25.4oz .Some big fish here .
Went again Thursday June 7th . Gloriously Sunny . When it's hot use smaller baits . 15mm not a knock in 3 hrs . 11mm caught 4 Carp and Bream in last 2hrs of session . Old chap from wooden lodge pulled out 2 Carp . On 8mm pellets . Elusive Barbel . 2000 Put in . Only one registered catch on Main Dam . Where are they.
Few new pictures . Includes a PB for a Koi Ghost Carp weighed 14lb . Top day fishing with a mate who caught a 21lb Mirror . Arms ached .

Spent 6 hours here. Very friendly locals who are all happy to give advice. Can be a bit intimidating as it's a large water. However stick to the deeper areas. Keep baiting little and often. As it was a warm day I was catching up in the water on pellet waggler. Ended up with 4 carp all ranging between 10 and 16 1/2 pounds, plus some bream and hybrids the guy next to me had caught a lot of silvers and even some eels. Very clean. Toilet on site. 10 quid for a day ticket on the carp lake.

This is a real gem of a site with excellent fishing in three lakes all in view and within a minutes walk of the pitches. The site is made up of a seasonal section and a CAMC CL. The facilities block offers a toilet and a shower which is clean and stocked. There is oodles of space to wander with the dog and the grass is well cut.
Lovely site and definitely worth more return visits

The woman that owns this place needs to find some respect for people if she don't like your face she will target you. Her husband is a nice guy though. Good carp lake otherwise i like fishing this place but that lady can ruin your days fishing believe me. I recommend the carp lake and the donught is good too but she ruins it so just hope your face fits otherwise your doomed 😮

I have fished the Horns Dam (larger of the 3 lakes a few times over the last couple of years and this lake is good for catching Carp to the low 20lb's mark from what I have witnessed there, I have also seen Bream to 3lb and Roach to 1lb, on the website which possibly needs updating it states Bream to over 10lb's and there is some photos in the toilets of large Bream from years ago, maybe they are still in there somewhere, also mentions Specimen Perch, a good head of Rudd and Chub and Tench to over 6lb but i have witnessed none of these species there and after speaking with the owner he did say that the Tench had probably died out, so I would say don't go there with the intention of targeting Tench, anyway like I said good for Carp to low 20lb's also approx 40 good pegs to choose from and good for kids to catch a few of the Roach close in on the float as a young lad was doing recently, nice clean toilets. Update although I have seen no Perch in there, another reviewer says they had some Perch 1 day and there is a photo of a nice sized Perch in the Gallery.
