One of the most amazing experiences we've had! We came here in the late season for a weekend away with the kids, and have to say it's one of the nicest places we've stayed. The decor is perfect with the sweetest little astro-turf floor, and the staff so helpful! Almost everything was perfect, except from a couple of cold moments at night, when we forgot to put wood in the stove! There is loads to do nearby, and one of our now favourite pubs is just a short drive away. Check-in was easy, even if the place is difficult to find, and there were no problems with check-out either! Lovely place, lovely people, and a lovely experience overall!

A wonderful week end in beautiful surroundings with just the right amount of rustic challenge. I stayed in the sky dome and drifted off to sleep on a super comfortable high platform bed under the stars. The outdoor kitchen was a joy, with a herb garden on top of the natural fridge and lovely views of the garden on all sides, a perfect place to relax with friends. Particularly enjoyed the satisfaction of building a fire to heat water for a blissful shower that felt like standing in a rain forest. Great food and wonderful hosts, will very definitely be back.

Beautiful location! I loved the Green Dome with its comfortable beds and ensuite bathroom. I settled down to sleep staring at the stars through the Dome's transparent ceiling panels, with the fire crackling away in the wood burner, and awoke to birdsong. Each Dome has its own outdoor kitchen which has a private seating area which we enjoyed relaxing in. We really enjoyed Pizza Night; it was great fun making them and the end product was delicious!

Great hidden spot in the forest. Jon the caretaker is really nice and takes his work seriously. Gave us a warm welcome and great sightseeing and restaurant tips

Had an amazing few nights. Made pizza. Walked in the woods. Chat round the fire pit. Perfect.

I would not recommend booking here, due to bad customer service.
I booked a night away for me and my partner , I however got the dates wrong so attempted to cancel to then plan to re book in the future. I understood I would not get my deposit back but I was under the impression that nothing else would be charged.
A month later after cancelling they took the full payment out of my account, I have since emailed, rang, messaged on instragram and text and I am still awaiting a response back. This is such bad customer service and such a shame that a place like this would take money after a cancellation then make it so hard to get it back or at least speak to someone. So I am advising everyone not to book it is such a shame as it looked like a unique stay which would’ve been fun!

My partner and I stayed in the Coal Store for 3 nights. We paid a total of £340.
Overall experience was Okay
Jon greeted us and he is very pleasant.
We got into the room I loved the decor, but I was surprised that there was no door separating the bedroom and the toilet!! There was no wardrobe or a fridge either which was not much of a big deal. The bathroom itself was lovely and clean but unfortunately the bedroom wasn't. Being a clean freak, I noticed stains on one of the pillow case, cobwebs around the room and very dusty side lamps. The room was very cold and the floor was ice cold. If you decide to visit please bring slippers at it is not provided.
If you are someone that wants to have some rest and sleep late morning, please bring earplugs as there are children in the garden and you can hear everyone as well from the reception. There was music playing until 9pm on Saturday in the garden. If you want peace and quiet probably this is not the ideal place.
There was no room service, change of towels etc...
The bed was very uncomfortable, two single mattresses pushed together to make double bed and covered with a double sheet and I kept falling into the gap and wake up with a sore back.
Overall my stay was Okay and I hope these reviews are taken as constructive criticism and help to make improvements as this place have so much potentials. The staff are friendly, and the place itself is amazing with a few things need improving!
Thank you

Am just about to book another stay for this summer (as the kids are insisting) and thought I should write a review. We had a wonderful time at The Dome Garden last year. We stayed in The Sky Dome which the children loved because of the big high swing bed. Lighting fires/walks in the woods/wild swimming and canoeing in the Wye river really made it a magical trip. Eating out in pubs was trickier last summer because of covid so you couldn’t just turn up but we still managed a couple of lovely lunches at The Saracens Head and visited the local Italian restaurant ‘Amici’ which the children loved. Only downside to our trip was the lack of zip wires which the owners had removed for social distancing measures - hoping it will all be back to normal this year and really looking forward to another ‘back to nature’ trip to the Forest of Dean.
