Absolutely disgusting experience at this place. The woman on the reception desk has the worst attitude I’ve ever experienced, doesn’t even look at you when your talking. Then We were seen by a nurse who also had a terrible attitude and didn’t want to know, however We were then seen again by a lovely girl, Ashton. She really went above and beyond to help. The place needs a good clear out of staff with bad attitudes and no care, starting with reception.

Great service this morning from all the staff in the Minor Injury Unit despite the high numbers of patients. Thank you all very much.

I have a bad finger trauma that was getting worse, I have an autoimmune disease and I take medicine for it which means I am not able to fight these things off as easily as a normal person can, I was told by my gp to seek help if this had got any worse, it had gotten alot worse. I went to the front desk at minor injuries and was practically told no by the woman with a blonde bob before I'd even described my problem and the nurse with blonde mid length hair in a pony tail also made me feel like a fool, when explaining how this was serious due to my condition and simply looked at me in disgust saying "you should have gone to your gp" and claiming its "just an infection" as if I hadn't previously done this. I then had to go to my GP and beg for help where they confirmed this was bad finger trauma.

So I'd like to thank the woman with the blonde bob who was middle age on reception at minor injuries today at around 12.45pm for making me feel like a total inconvenience by being a person with a serious autoimmune disease and a clear finger TRAUMA, even raising her voice so others could hear. Absolutely disgusting service. And after all that, my doctors who luckily were able to see me quickly by asking a doctor to come up to the desk, confirmed it was a trauma to my finger that had definitely gotten worse.

I'd recommend Witney hospital seriously looking into their staff as serious things could be missed due to this lack of care on front desk and nurses like the flippant nurse who saw me for a millisecond at front desk too with her misdiagnosis.

Received treatment here for 2 days whilst very unwell, the team in the multidisciplinary unit were incredible - very kind and was clear they genuinely care about their patients. They did everything they could to help me and make me more comfortable and I am very grateful for the kindness they showed throughout. I have been in another hospital feeling similarly unwell where the poor treatment exacerbated the symptoms, but here was very different and they made a horrible experience that little bit more bearable with their compassion and swift treatment.

I felt guilty having to attend a hospital after crushing my hand because I didn’t want to add pressure to the NHS.

After spending 15 minutes queuing to try and get into the carpark of the JR, a work colleague called and said to try Witney as they can deal with minor injuries.

Booking in took minutes. I was seen by an excellent nurse (I can’t remember her name but she had lovely tattoos on her forearm!) and it was decided I needed an X-ray.

Back into the empty waiting room to be called for my X-ray and was waiting under 5 minutes.

Back out to the empty waiting room for the nurse to look at the X-rays to see if my hand was fractured and no sooner had I sat down, I was whisked back to see my scan, given the all clear and advice on how to look after my hand.

From the time I walked in to the time I left was under an hour.
I’m not sure I would have got through triage at the JR in that time.

I was seriously, seriously impressed and this is by far the best treatment I’ve ever had through the NHS.

So a huge thank you to the nurse and I’m sorry I don’t remember your name and huge thanks to the radiologist.
Both brilliant with people, kind and extremely knowledgeable.

If I needed to use an accident department again for a minor injury, I would rather come here and not take resources away for the most in need at the JR.

Sue on reception/admin was pleasant and immensely helpful today. Went to some trouble resolving my diverse appointment issues with clinics held at Witney. Top marks and thanks again.

This is the second visit in recent years where I have been unfortunate enough to have an out of hours emergency and have been faced with dealing with the same awful lady on the minor injuries desk. For the first incident (a lacerated foot) I actually left without medical assistance and a boot full of blood because she was so unnecessarily rude. Today she made it clear I had interrupted her personal conversation and refused to look at me or acknowledge me until she had finished ! Even then she just gestured to a colleague to deal with me. This is in no way a reflection of the care received just a cautious warning for anyone having to go to the minor injury desk !
