I took my 88 yr old mother to this place today after a fall for which she sustained minor cuts an bruising and caused a start of a Haematoma to her left shin.
I was totally dismayed with the treatment she received the staff seemed to be running around aimlessly not knowing what they were doing .
They didn’t even seem to know how to treat a Haematoma (thankfully it hadn’t spilt open),
They left my mother without pain medication as she is unable to swallow tablets (she has swallowing problems) - they could’ve crushed some paracetamol an put it in water for her but they didn’t even offer this to her. So she didn’t receive anything for pain until we got home.
The dressings for the cuts an bruises came off within a couple of hours.
To protect the Haematoma they put a small thin piece of gauze an a stocking over the leg ( if she had bumped her leg it would’ve bled) so this was unsatisfactory
IT IS THE WORST MINOR INJURIES DEPARTMENT I HAVE EVER ATTENDED, THEY ARE AN INSULT TO THE NHS
IF I EVER NEED HELP AGAIN I WOULD SOONER GO TO EXETER ED WHERE YOU GET FIRST CLASS CARE AND TREATMENT

I went to the unit yesterday on a Sunday. I was seen extremely quickly suffering from extreme back pain. I was treated with great concern by everyone from receptionist, nurse and finally doctor. Brilliant, can't praise enough. Karen Smith

Thank you Tiverton Urgent Treatment Centre. Very friendly and professional receptionist, both in the phone and face to face. We travelled from Barnstaple this evening as we knew our NDDH A&E were under pressure and I only needed antibiotics. Very calm environment at Tiverton & I was seen incredibly quickly by two, yet again, very friendly and professional members of the team, was given the antibiotics I needed along with advice for ongoing care and we were home again within 2 hours of leaving. Thank you so much. Very impressive. You all do a wonderful job.

Went to see GO who said I need an X-ray today to rule out Bone infection. She also gave me some antibiotics. She sent me an text to show she wanted me to have an X-ray . Got to hospital who took no notice of my doctor and refused to speak to my GP practice. Told me I had to be reassessed by one of their doctors to see if an X-ray was required?! No wonder the NHS has problems … after 2 hours and not yet seen a doctor yet alone an X-ray I have given up ….let’s hope I don’t have a bone infection….

Would highly recommend that the Doctor we saw on Monday 19/07/21 afternoon needs to be refreshed in his training. He sent my daughter and I home feeling as though we had wasted his time ruling out anything such as appendicitis etc with a tummy bug that she'd had for three days. Turns out her bloods showed an infection and her appendix had ruptured!! Thankfully she has had an operation and is recovering well. Please if you are not happy with the diagnosis, follow your instincts as you know your child and keep going until you are listened to. This could've sadly ended in a different way.

I took my father here on Monday since he was unable to move from his waist upwards. English is his second language so I had to assist him and translate for him. The moment a nurse came and saw us they were extremely rude. Not only did they make him feel bad for needing me as a translator but they also acted like we over reacted about his pain. They made us feel like we waisted their time and that his injury wasn't severe enough. After this interaction we had to wait an other 3 hours before we were seen only to be be littled once again. I am so disappointed and angry at the way they waisted our time and treated .

Really convenient after hours service and reassuring. Takes away the problematic process of booking GP appointments. We used twice for our daighter and so thankful for the service provided by NHS staff. Thank you.
