Stayed here with a group hiring the whole hostel. It's a charming historic building, a former Co-operative Society store and offices and the names of the rooms reflect this rather charmingly. The setting is lovely and the walking in the area is stunning. Note: the stairs are quite steep.

Lovely little family friendly hostel in the heart of a picturesque village surrounded by fantastic landscapes. The rooms are spartan but very clean and the kitchen facilities are first class. The manger made us feel at home and was friendly and very helpful . Our kids loved it and we would definitely come again.

It's a simple cheap and clean place to stay conveniently with a pub directly located next door. If you are travelling with a car the car will be a problem as there is no parking and street parking is an absolute nightmare as the village is so small and created before the car was invented. Good kitchen facility.

This place is awesome. Used to be a co-op. Large well appointed kitchen. Inviting living spaces. Clean private room with everything you expect. Great village. Very helpful and friendly staff who gave us some cracking advice about how to enjoy the peaks.

This is a quaint hostel with a good size self catering kitchen. The only minor issue is the lack of parking, but I had no trouble finding a place to park on the main Street. Plus there is a car park nearby. There are 3 pubs in this small village and a convenience shop right near by including a post office, so you won't have trouble stocking up on food or treating yourself to a meal out

Booked a few rooms here last minute on a cycling trip, turned out brilliantly. Arriving late and a little wet we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff, shown our simple bit perfectly adequate rooms, hing up our wet stuff in the very toasty drying room (with supplies newspapers, excellent for drying out cycling shoes) bought some supplies for the local store and cooked a meal in the roomy, clean and well supplied basement kitchen. There is a side door for late returns and several decent pubs within walking distance. Add to that the reasonable price and ease of use and you have a winner.

It's a yhs so expect a youth hostel. The building is fun. Nice kitchen. Rooms clean. Location brilliant. And a bakery sets up on Saturday morning for fresh baked pastries. Cakes and coffee. Youlgrieve has nice walks and on a hot day you can have mini swim in the river.
