Stravaigers Lodge

Had two separate nights stay in this hostel/campsite. Comfortable beds and clean facilities with shared kitchen in the hostel. Bar and restaurant near the reception. The restaurant food was as good as any restaurant and better than most. Service was quick from pleasant staff who were very helpful. It made the aches and pains from the cycle ride bearable. For campers there was a covered area for cooking and eating in inclement weather.
I would recommend this well thought out hostel and campsite to anyone. I have no hesitation to return in the future.

We were not impressed with our recent stay in the hostel. There were no staff available to help with any of our problems. The light in our room did not work, nor the thermostat. The room was therefore very hot and pretty uncomfortable and the mattress looked as if someone had been murdered on it (under the sheet). We got turfed out at 10am and then had to wait in the rain for the singular member of staff to collect our key. We felt the price of the room was too steep considering the experience we had.

Good location (5 min walk from Loch Ness) and decent price.

Got a Twin room spring beds, which weren't very comfortable. Very basic room no chair or table. The room does have electricity plugs for charging etc.
Clean bathroom(s) although less in numbers. A big kitchen with cooker, hob, oven, fridges etc.
Reached the place late at night (around 10PM), nothing was open at that time. Never saw the McKay's Bar and Restaurant open anytime.
WiFi was tooooo slow.

Was a very brief visit for a program being filmed but the location was beautiful great views of the loch and the facilities were fantastic

Remembering this place makes me shudder as there is no warning of the entire yard being covered in small pebbles--- a virtual death-trap to any motorcycle rider.

Very noisy inside the lodge. I could hear the person next door snoring, then early morning people started going to the common bathrooms and could hear the doors and could not sleep. Facilities were clean but not on great condition. As soon as I pulled the window curtain down, it fell. It was the cheap for a night stay but not very comfortable. WiFi never worked either.

Not open this time of year but let us use the site we were shattered and they didn't mind us staying cheers

Quite and good priced, not too great matress!
