We stayed in the family room. The hostel is in a great location for exploring but quite far from amenities which wasn't a problem for us. Each evening we sat outside on the benches overlooking the bay and saw dolphins in each night. Fantastic. The facilities are great but the parking involves a little jiggery-pokery but that's part of the charm.
The kitchen is good although we had problems with the electrics shorting out all the ovens. Also the sinks leaked into the cupboards below. Met some interesting people and our 2 boys aged 6 and 8 had a fantastic time playing on the beach, catching crabs, exploring the surrounding countryside and generally having fun. The sweet shop in Cardigan bay was a particular hit. Will visit again and we're loving our new found hobby of youth hostelling!

View was amazing ! Hostel was good but could do with more socializing (lucky to find social people on the first day but not on the second)

The main issues is the parking ! There is space for 3 cars max and nowhere nearby as the road is already tiny and built in the middle of a strong slope... And though : the hostel is around an hour walk from the nearest town ! So you cannot really do without a car except if you want to isolate yourself from civilisation. Even with a car you do not really want to take it out once you got a park space, and you don't want to manoeuvre on this tiny road etc.

So... I don't know if i want to go back there. If it crazily cheap and i got no alternative i will, otherwise i will avoid the hassle and stay somewhere else...

A hostel with a gorgeous view. Very clean facilities. Far from everything else if that's what you are looking for. If you are walking there with a big rucksack it can be tough as there is a 0.5 mile slope all the way to it, but the place is worthy.

The most amazing view from my room and the hostel overlooking all of the Cardigan Bay and Cardigan Island. A Fantastic place to stay in, great value for the money. Nice rooms. I would recommend it 100%!

I found lack of WiFi and phone signal an issue and also fully self-catered kitchen with no drinks or breakfast to buy a bit of a problem. But now as I know that I can’t buy food there I will prepare for it the next time I come. Just make sure you bring your own food, tea and coffee.

There are plenty of places to dine in Cardigan. I made a mistake of going for a walk to the Cardigan town - don’t do it or make sure you come back in time to take the bus 408 which last leaves at 16:55 from the town. Use you car and go around, visit Newport, have a look at a Cromlech in a nearby village and go near the Cardigan Island - apparently you can see some dolphins at sunset there. You can hire a boat and explore wildlife and caves. It’s useful to plan ahead because once you get there and realise how beautiful is you want to do more there.

Great self catering hostel with stunning views right on the Pembrokeshire coast route. Kitchen set up for use and socializing (we baked cake as a family). Volunteer managers bring their own energy. Drying room could be more effective, glad of outdoor drying space as a supliment!

Great hostel with open plan kitchen and dining facilities. We had a lovely sea view from our room! Great location for walking the coast path and only a 10 min walk down to Poppit Sands beach and cafe. It's worth knowing that there are no shops within easy walking distance, so just make sure you bring any food, etc. you need in with you if you are arriving late at night. Overall would definitely reccomended to others!

Absolutely stunning location. Great facilities in self catering kitchen and showers /loos. Rooms basic but a sink included. Sea view. Lounge area and large dining area. Steep drive and limited parking. An old hostel designed for walkers! Loved it. Volunteer wardens helpful.
