Went to a friends wedding here. The wedding it’s self was beautiful and the dining room and reception room was amazing. However went to my room at the end of the night room no 2 got into the bed it was very damp . Got moved to another room next door could hear tv all night the bed was uncomfortable and cold . Breakfast found something in my beans had to get them changed . As I say the wedding was amazing but the bed room was very disappointing . Lovely wedding venue but do not book a room here

We arrived for a Murder Mystery Night yesterday and from the moment we stepped in the welcome was amazing! Absolutely amazing reception team, fantastic food, super clean comfy room that gave us the best night sleep we had had in a while. Amazing breakfast with a very friendly attentive team!! Highly recommended… we will be back. Thank you

We met up with friends here for an overnight stay and we all had a fantastic time. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had the evening meal in the restaurant and can thoroughly recommend it. The food was beautiful and great value. The staff were friendly and very attentive.

I didn't stay here but did visit the rooms. The service was exemplary. Those I saw there seemed more than happy. The rooms were exceptional and would love to stay there. Car park was small but plenty of room. The hall is surrounded by pictures gardens and countryside. Definitely a place to unwind.

We were really disappointed when we arrived. I had booked the hotel to coincide with the murder mystery event for my wife’s special birthday. I had booked an executive room (40) but when we got inside there were hairs in the bath, mould around it and mould on the bathroom ceiling around the fan area, which despite indications that it was, clearly wasn’t working properly. There were dirt a scuffs on the paintwork and several large cracks in the wall which had been filled but not painted over. There was a lot of dust on the surfaces in the room and the house keeping left a lot to be desired and l didn’t feel that the room warranted it’s executive status. If the room was due for refurbishment, it shouldn’t have been let or at least offered for a reduced rate. Clearly not the experience we wanted for the weekend so I complained and we were moved, and upgraded, to a suite (6)….What a difference. The room was much nicer, as you would expect, freshly decorated and looking good… on the surface. The house keeping still left a lot to be desired. There was a large black hair in the drawer, discarded capsules and other rubbish in one of the bed side drawers and a unused tablet in the other - clearly a health hazard. In addition the toilet seat was the wrong size and was loose. I have photos of the items in room 6 if you want to see them.
Also, the bar could have been improved as none of the wines we requested from the wine menu were in stock. On a positive note, we had a great murder mystery evening which could have been so much better as mentioned above.

This was our second visit to this hotel and once again, we had a lovely stay.
Our room was very warm despite the bitter cold weather and very cosy.
We enjoyed the evening dinner and really enjoyed breakfast the following morning. There was a great deal of choice and the food was obviously freshly prepared.
All the staff we spoke to were pleasant and friendly.
Our two dogs were made very welcome which is important to us.
Hopefully we will return in the not too distant future.

This is a lovely hotel, full of character with big rooms, tasty food, a comfortable bed, and friendly staff. We stayed during very cold weather though, and found our room chilly, even though the 3 small radiators were on. Some of the hotel communal rooms downstairs were also cold. No real fires lit! But overall, very nice.

We absolutely loved our stay with you. The hotel is stunning and the food was excellent. However, the hospitality of the staff really made it for us. They were very welcoming (from reception to restaurant), and they helped entertain our two little children. Thanks for everything, and we hope to be back soon!
