We loved the aesthetic look of the hotel - we thought it looked lovely.

Unfortunately it was aesthetically pleasing but we felt lacked the depth. We went for afternoon tea - and the selection of food was poor in our opinion. We felt there was very little savoury selection and the scones were very overcooked to the point of almost being shortbread.

The gardens and area surrounding it though were lovely.

We probably would not come here again due to the quality of the food. If that was better it would have been a wonderful experience.

Lovely place, amazing wedding venue, the bar is ace, gardens immaculate, what more can I say really?
Can't say a bad thing about it, was really really nice, highly recommend it, ate in the restaurant, I had the scollaps to start (they were a little on the small side if I being stingy) and the lamb was delicious. Wedding the next day and it was fantastic, the bar could of had another member of staff and the prices were a little high but to be expected really for a venue like this, really really recommended it, six stars if I could😍😍😍

Fabulous stay at Abbey House for a family wedding, from check in to check out everything was flawless. The meals we had on Friday night was outstanding surrounded by the beautiful gardens around the conservatory. The day of the wedding was run to perfection and we could not wish for more.
Our room was lovely and very comfortable with everything we needed.
After our check out on Sunday we took the short walk down the hill to the Abbey ruins there which was a lovely walk.

I've travelled to many parts of the UK, and by far this is the most prestigious location and hotel yet.
The hotel has a royal regal feel to it (King George) & Queen (Princess at the time) Elizabeth stayed here, Also looks like a castle.

The Abbey House Hotel, sits opposite fields of the Lake District.
You are then met with a beautiful round (about) bouquet of flowers as you enter the drive way.
As you make way into the hotel entrance you instantly feel the history of the building.

I don't want to spoil it further, I want, you will make your own verdicts to how beautiful this hotel is.

The rooms are stunning, and most of them have great views onto the back of landscape.

This hotel is great for weddings and celebrations, as I was there for a family member wedding.

The staff are welcoming, helpful and really friendly. They made all of us feel at home.

I know when I come to see the Lake District (Burrow-in-Furness) again, I will look to stay here.

Please also follow the National Trust path at the back of the hotel, there is some historical buildings hidden at the bottom of the forest.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, booked a 3 night stay in a compo suite.
The room was clean and spacious, we enjoyed the bar area and the ambiance, the restaurant wasn't really for us it's a little small and we thought the bar areas were more to our taste.
We had no idea that Furness abbey was in the grounds of the hotel when we booked so what a phenomenal surprise as we walked through the grounds.
Highly recommend we will certainly be going back.

Beautiful grounds. An excellent retreat for a weekend or even a week. With its own parking its a short drive from the city.
A walk in the grounds leads you to the abandoned Abbey next door and a couple of picturesque cottages on the way.
Rooms were very nicely furnished and comfortable. It is a popular wedding venue which may bring with it party noises and some restrictions to facilities.
Recommended.

Here for a menu tasting for a forthcoming wedding next year! Food was great we tried several starters a wide variety of meats and a couple of veggie options and far too many puddings! 😋 The hotel itself is superb and the grounds are magnificent we didn't want to view the rooms yet as we wanted it to be a special moment next time staff were really helpful nothing was too much trouble lots of parking 🚗

We had a wonderful overnight stay here. Room was clean and perfect. Comfortable bed and temperature control. The whole place is just stunning. We ate at the restaurant that was in the hotel and the food was incredible and priced very reasonable for the high quality. Breakfast was equally as nice with continental and cooked options available. I will say one thing though and it’s a little bit more for the future, this hotel as no EV charging points and this would make a huge difference to my future stays as charging points at destinations are becoming more important. Maybe put up one or two in the car park.
