Pretty underwhelming.
Staff on arrival were exceptional and very welcoming, evening meal was incredibly limited and most items were not available.
The room was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean with very modern decor.
Breakfast in the morning is an incredible let down. No hot breakfast is a massive massive let down, and no vegan option is another big minus, not soy milk on the cereal bar and when we did eventually get someone to find the soy milk it was rotten. So all in all a very very poor experience. I even found myself looking at Uber eats and Just Eat to see if I could get a breakfast delivered.
Very unlikely we will stay again.

This is perhaps the best hotel in Portsmouth. The location is quiet with easy links to the Royal historic dockyards Museum and Hayling island beaches.
I spent 3 nights here with my family in July 2022.
The room was great, very spacious. King size bed for my 3 kids and a large sofa bed for 2 adults. The carpet looked a bit tired but it was very clean. There was a kettle for tea, an iron and ironing board. A smart TV with loads of TV channels. A big and clean bathroom with good pressure shower.
The location is quiet as it's a couple of miles away from the noisy town area. The environment is clean and fresh. Enough parking spaces, though a £5 charge per day is required - which is reasonable in my opinion. The reception area is beautifully designed with good seating arrangements.

Their breakfast, a buffet type was excellent, with a lot of options to choose from.
The staff were exceptional, very patient, kind and hard working.
I knew Holiday Inn Express at Colchester where I had stayed a couple of times in the past and so I expected my experience with them at Portsmouth to be the same. I was not disappointed at all.
I will always look for Holiday Inn Express everywhere I go.

On arrival was told that they are trialing a new breakfast service. Little did I know this meant there would be no hot food served at breakfast, which is one of the reasons I book with Holiday Inn.

Also I don't see the reason for charging for the car park £5 per day when the location is in the middle of no where. This should be included in the the room rate.

On a positive note the room was great, perfect for a family of 4 and the staff and cleaners were amazing and extremely helpful.

Would I stay here again? Yes if they start serving a hot breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They tried to find us a quiet room which was very hospitable. Parking is £5 per day. The room was very clean and comfortable with a small sofa as well. We were impressed with the breakfast choices and quality as it was included in the price.

I booked a few nights at the Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth North at last minute and I'm so glad I did. This place is definitely worth staying at. The room was very clean and cosy with different forms of lighting and also temperature control. You can also open the room's window to let in some fresh air. Despite being near to a motorway, you hardly hear the traffic with the window closed.

The hotel also includes breakfast. They have a wide selection of items including cereal, hot savoury food, toast, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, mixed fruit and of course drinks including coffee and a range of different teas. The staff are helpful and will go out of their way to accommodate their guests. I arrived by bicycle and they allowed me to keep my bike inside the building in a safe storage area.

I 100% recommend this place and would happily stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location. My room was very spacious, clean and there was no noise disturbance during my stay.

There is a free breakfast which is always a winner but I found it underwhelming with a lack of choice, this tends to be the case with breakfast included but that aside it you won’t go hungry.

Staff were friendly and helpful especially the new lady on evening food service, she was brilliant! The lady on breakfast duty is very eager, as soon as people got up the table was cleaned straight away.

Only downside was the fact you have to pay for parking, it’s not exactly close to anything so no need to charge. I also found the mattress to be a bit on the hard side but still had a good sleep.

Would stay here again

What a lovely place to stay, we were welcomed really warmly, all the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Reece who was so pleasant, helpful and very lovely. The food was very good, so good we sat and watched one couple help themselves to enough food to feed an army and take it back to their room on several trips, what a shame there are such greedy people around!!! The hotel is conveniently placed to get to many places, very warm, friendly and comfortable thanks to everyone who helps to make it so pleasant, merry Christmas to all, we will be back!! Arrival the car park is absolutely coverd in rubbish. £5 for parking ..... couldn't understand as its on a main road and nothing around.

Clean and tidy rooms. Staff are friendly enough but would be nice when seeing a mother with 2 small children ti over help with bags or maybe put a room closer.

Corridor smelt of smoke and cannabis.

As for the night spent here..... All I hear is a dog a few rooms down barking constantly and someone constantly knocking on a door. Obviously can't control other guests but maybe put guests with pets away from guests without pets. (especially with 2 young children who keep getting woken)
