Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Rooms clean and spacious. Tasty food served with a smile very good value for money. Would recommend to a friend!

It does the job. Staff were really friendly, room was a good size, everything was nice and clean. There’s a lovely park opposite. Air con was super helpful in this heat!

What used to be the old Nelson is now a modern 21 cen eating house goidi food friendly staff and not expensive I. e eg a meal for 8 off use con off Amain course and pudding and drinks £70 and no problem about having to clear the table to alow somebody else to use it.

Room was freezing cold cause the heating was turned off. Staff didnt clean up the room.
At the reception when i went to talk about it they did everything to try and blame it on the costumer (myself). Meaning that i should have turned the heating up and that i should ask for them to make up the room.
Saw that they wouldnt take any critics do i left it and asked them what they could do about it. They said write an email.
Things like this are very easy to fix to make costumers feel welcome. Say sorry, admit the fault, offer a breakfast/coffe, something that wont cost anything but would make the costumer feel that they care. But unfortunately not caring makes costumers not have a choice but to write a bad review. I really hope they learn from this. It takes so little to make somebody feel cared for and happy.

An overnight stay here, 250 miles into a 280 mile total journey, so we were very grateful for the warm welcome. We went for dinner just after arrival, and morning breakfast was a buffet style. Quite a lively atmosphere, and was able to repark my car just outside our bedroom window. There was a tesco store very close by for the morning paper, which was handy. An early start on the Saturday meant we managed the remaining 30 miles feeling relatively fresh and relaxed.

Love this place stayed here a few times over the years and coming from Brisbane Australia. I don't go anywhere else while visiting family. Reception staff 10/10 amazing Thank you 😊
