We had a lovely week-long stay at this beautiful hotel. Our room was immaculate, comfortable, well-appointed, quiet, and had a nice view over the fields. All the staff were warm and accommodating, from the porter who gave us the history of the hotel, to the bar staff, to the team at reception, to housekeeping. It is close proximity to Cheltenham as well as several other beautiful towns. We enjoyed walking and running on the grounds as well. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection of pastries, cereals, and yogurts, as well as a choice from the hot menu. We loved staying here and will be back - very highly recommended and deserving of its five stars.

We were treated to a champagne afternoon tea by my husband’s business as a treat due to the death of his father. Our first impressions were encouraging as it’s a beautiful hotel and where we were to be having our tea looked lovely. We were shown to the snug upstairs and whilst we waited, quite a long time, to be served I noticed how grubby everything was. The carpet needed a clean and a vacuum, the cushions were filthy, all of them were stained and the settee was also stained and very tired. I was also cold. The tea however once it arrived was delicious and the staff were great, but we did feel somewhat neglected. It seemed there were only 2 staff on for afternoon tea. I think our experience would have been very different if we hadn’t been in the grubby snug! We are local and will not be returning.

We only stayed for one night with diner & breakfast and apart from the room not being ready until quite late we had a great stay. Lovely setting with good food. I feel I must make a special mention of the younger members of staff as their politeness, professionalism & attitude to work was refreshing. They all seemed like they actually wanted to be there. They're a credit to your hotel.

My family, friends and neighbours attended a wake for my husband yesterday. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Ashleigh who organised the wake was professional throughout and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and well received by all. Would 100% recommend The Ellenborough Park Hotel for any events.

We had an amazing long weekend here for our anniversary. It was so special.

We had checked in but asked the receptionist if we could see some of the other rooms as she’d said some were being refurbed (as she was showing us our room). The room was okay but wasn’t quite what we were expecting for the money (rooms aren’t cheap), a little tired and no wow factor although we couldn’t fault the view (room 19). At reception we were very fortunate to bump into the interior designer who was just checking in and we got chatting.

A long story cut short but we managed to change rooms to room 40 and what a beautiful room it was! Fully refurbished and it really did feel special.

We were very lucky to have stayed in one of the new rooms and couldn’t really fault our stay. The staff were just lovely and we were given glasses of champagne courtesy of the hotel on our arrival at also at dinner. Both the afternoon tea (£35 pp) and all the meals were delicious. The food was however on the expensive side with mains being minimum of around £20 for a salad, sides around £7 a glass of coke £4.50, however the fridges in our room had fresh milk, complimentary cokes, water and biscuits along with the usual tea and coffee. More than a lot of hotels we’ve been to recently and so nice to have fresh milk!!

A few other things -

Should you wish to go on one of their walks you can borrow wellington boots, hire bikes too.

The outdoor pool wasn’t open on all the days we were there due to the ice. The spa we didn’t get to use but it fits around 4 people.

A lovely stay, we will be back!

Grounds and setting lovely, fantastic building and surroundings. Wonderful Ukrainian lady on reception very helpful and welcoming - full credit to her. However some other things fell short of 5 stars.

Room reasonable and spacious - nice bathroom and excellent shower, but décor middling in need of update. Hot thick duvet and mediocre pillows meant a rather restless night.
Bar area ok - but again felt a bit tired. Lady who greeted us for lunch not particularly welcoming - she opened saying how obviously busy they were - they weren't. Lunch and dinner menus were virtually identical - and not really 5 star food, though what we did eat was of good quality. We abandoned our dinner and went into Cheltenham in the end; not only because of lack of food choice but because there was only one other couple in 18:30 dinner seating which felt odd and empty for a Saturday. Inclusive breakfast in the morning was good - bustling in fact: the same dining room packed with punters - some tables they turned over twice while we were there. Overall we had a lovely weekend - but some things I expected to be better here, a few of which I have excluded from the review. You can find this with certain "5 star" places - once they get the stars the service slips beneath the price tag.

Oh what an amazing stay here!

Highly recommend!

Staff are accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a broad range of choices to accommodate dietary requirements.

Spa facilities are clean, robes and towels are soft!

Will definitely be visiting again.

The hotel was really cold, the room we stayed in 63 had some sort of generator that started at 7.30am each morning. Room was ok but not 5* As for the spa this was a major disappointment. It’s very small and only had two loungers so after a steam/ sauna you could not relax.
The spa it’s self was so cold the staff stayed upstairs. ( I can’t blame them ) but you had no one to greet you or show you around. For the cost of 4 days stay it really was disappointing. I get the weather was cold but it does not excuse the really bad conditions of the hotel. Restaurant was good and staff where great. But I honestly could not recommend this. One more thing this is and was my honest assessment. Look around I’m sure you will get better value for money. We left at 3am because it was so cold.
